Grand Hotel Parker's in Naples, Italy

The stunning façade of the Grand Hotel Parker's looks exactly as it might have 100 years ago, when it was first purchased by George Parker Bidder: elegant and stately alongside a busy Neapolitan street. Inside, Italy's past is proudly displayed in a private collection of artful masterpieces that embrace the history, culture, and tradition of Naples. Sophisticated, stylish décor fills the parquet-floored lobby and continues into the spacious rooms, palatial suites, and elegantly appointed common areas. Dark, bold furniture stands in calming contrast to the soft, neutral tones of the walls and linens, creating a romantic harmony in each living space. Rooms include air conditioning, heating, a safe, minibar, television, and curtains designed by local artisans that adorn windows framing dramatic views of the city or the sea.

Taste the best Naples has to offer without ever leaving the hotel. The delectable menu at George's will leave you saying "delicioso," while the city's first champagneria, Champagnery finds its home at Grand Hotel Parker's and delights taste buds with vibrant champagnes and brilliant appetizers. Bidder's Bar & Cigar Room on the 6th floor of the hotel boasts panoramic views of the city, and an established, yet relaxed vibe. Wellness Center Day Light, the hotel's spa and fitness center, re-opening on October 30, 2012, offers a comprehensive catalogue of spa services and the latest gym equipment to help guests revive their physical bodies and rejuvenate weary minds. Naples, home to the American Cup World Series event in 2012, and again in 2013 has its own exciting array of events and attractions, including the Royal Palace, San Severo's Chapel, and the National Archaeological Museum, all just minutes from the hotel. Grand Hotel Parker's includes everything that comes to mind when visualizing a European getaway: romance, fine wine, art, and incomparable luxury.

Stayed one night, at the end of touring Amalfi, as early morning flight made Naples a convenient choice to the airport. Warm and helpful reception. Booked our transport for 5 am taxi. Excellent lunch service. Room was spotless with crisp, white sheets and wooden flooring. Bathroom glowed. We felt relaxed and very happy we chose this hotel for our (sadly) final night in beautiful Italy.

It was our first time in Naples. We came for a friend's wedding. Grand Hotel Parker's was the perfect place for us to stay. Breathtaking views of the city and an excellent service from concierge to room keepers. A special shout out to the lovely Franco who looked after us at the top restaurant with elegance, efficiency and warmth. I would definitely return to this hotel and would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Naples.

Spent two wonderful nights in Naples, Italy at the classic Grand Hotel Parkers. Naples is a wonderful chaotic city full of non stop traffic and activities. We enjoyed our spectacular and peaceful view from the formidable balcony of this grand hotel overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius in the distance. Our interior room was pleasant and the staff were excellent and very accommodating. From here, we toured Pompeii, a 40 minute car ride away and enjoyed Pizza Margarita in the center of Naples at Pizzeria Brandi. The wonderful hotel terrace offered excellent drinks and appetizers at the end of each day as we watched the boats traversing the Bay of Naples. Naples is not a driving city for tourists, so forget the rental car. Taxis abound and are recommended as the only way to travel in central Naples. Service at the Hotel was excellent and we would return again one day.

We chose Hotel Grand Parkers uncertain about its location as it is not a seafront hotel. However its position meant it was well away from the tourist areas and our room had a spectacular view across houses to the sea with Capri in the far distance. The staff were very helpful and the enthusiastic and knowledgeable Head Concierge, Marco, was a delight. While it is not in an area offering restaurants or sightseeing attractions, we took taxis for the short (under 10 euros) ride to the old city and magnificent Museum, and the front desk staff gave us reliable recommendations for places there and elsewhere to have lunch or dinner -- from traditional Neopolitan to Michelin star.

This hotel was a five star hotel, one day. Not anymore. It lost a few stars. We had booked a standard room, how bad can that be at a five star hotel? It was very bad. The view is terrible, into a courtyard with dead plants, a rock wall and some iron debree. Stains on the wall. Strange toilet (the flushing system was an afterthought). We upgraded to a front room. Gorgious view, bathroom with scratched bath and to take a shower you had to squeeze yourself into the bathtub behind the half glass seperation. The only thing that is really beautiful is the view from te restaurant. The breakfast was ok. The lift small, 2 people and luggage max. The (valet) parking was next to the hotel entrance, into the rock. The hotel is located on a very busy road. No shops, no restaurants near by. The staff in the lobby was friendly, at the restaurant they seemed very stressed out. During breakfast people were smoking at the terrace/balcony
