Grand Hotel Parker's in Naples, Italy

The stunning façade of the Grand Hotel Parker's looks exactly as it might have 100 years ago, when it was first purchased by George Parker Bidder: elegant and stately alongside a busy Neapolitan street. Inside, Italy's past is proudly displayed in a private collection of artful masterpieces that embrace the history, culture, and tradition of Naples. Sophisticated, stylish décor fills the parquet-floored lobby and continues into the spacious rooms, palatial suites, and elegantly appointed common areas. Dark, bold furniture stands in calming contrast to the soft, neutral tones of the walls and linens, creating a romantic harmony in each living space. Rooms include air conditioning, heating, a safe, minibar, television, and curtains designed by local artisans that adorn windows framing dramatic views of the city or the sea.

Taste the best Naples has to offer without ever leaving the hotel. The delectable menu at George's will leave you saying "delicioso," while the city's first champagneria, Champagnery finds its home at Grand Hotel Parker's and delights taste buds with vibrant champagnes and brilliant appetizers. Bidder's Bar & Cigar Room on the 6th floor of the hotel boasts panoramic views of the city, and an established, yet relaxed vibe. Wellness Center Day Light, the hotel's spa and fitness center, re-opening on October 30, 2012, offers a comprehensive catalogue of spa services and the latest gym equipment to help guests revive their physical bodies and rejuvenate weary minds. Naples, home to the American Cup World Series event in 2012, and again in 2013 has its own exciting array of events and attractions, including the Royal Palace, San Severo's Chapel, and the National Archaeological Museum, all just minutes from the hotel. Grand Hotel Parker's includes everything that comes to mind when visualizing a European getaway: romance, fine wine, art, and incomparable luxury.

The only reason this hotel gets 2 stars is due to how great the hotel staff is and the views from our room and the restaurant. We were upgraded to the bi-level suite and were greeted by a pleasant staff member. I want to stress that the rooms are very old and tired. Nearly every wall in our room had some sort of scuff mark, the sconces on the walls were loose and askew, and the furniture was scratched and old. There was no water provided in the room and the air conditioning did not work. The restaurant served great cocktails and the views are second to none. However, I do not think I would stay here again based on the views and the staff alone.

Hotel is very nice. Staff at the desk is excellent and very friendly. I gave it four stars due to the restaurant service at dinner. Don't even bother eating there. I had the pasta with cod, which was way over salted but other than salt had no flavor at all. My wife had the grilled vegetable appetizer which was good. Waiter extremely surly. Weirdly so. We wanted to sit outside because we had been in the sun all day and the restaurant was hot. Would not serve appetizers outside, only beverages. Odd. Who cares where to serve the good if the customer wants it? I didn't get it. Breakfast was excellent.

Lovely quiet hotel, a little away from the centre but not a bad thing. 10/15 mins walk to some nice little restaurants and to the small harbour. Taxis are easy to come by to get to the centre and Ferry Port for boats over to Capri, Sorrento etc! Room was a beautiful duplex, clean, spacious and comfortable bed with good pillows and linen. Reception staff were helpful and other staff members were all polite and helpful. Whilst we may not go back to Naples itself, we would recommend this Hotel to anybody visiting!

Staying here right now for two nights. Can't say enough nice things about it! Lobby- beautiful Room- updated and with all modern conveniences, newly remodeled bath in carrera marble and a rain shower View from room of the sea!!! Breakfast- fantastic, smoked salmon and lots more. The view is absolutely awe inspiring!!! Careful! Only first floor of the hotel is remodeled. Loved it all and we are well travelled with many expectations

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room & bathroom were spacious & pleasantly decorated. The room had a small balcony which had amazing views over the bay of Naples. The only negative thing about the room was that there was no fridge/ minibar. The front desk staff were very helpful & the hotel was in easy walking distance to the subway & great restaurants. Breakfast was very good in a room at the top of the hotel with breathtaking views. A great way to start the day!
