Reviews for The Mount Nevis Hotel

BEST hotel to stay on NEVIS!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Stayed here for a week with my mother for the Cross Channel Swim race that Nevis and St. Kitts puts on every year. Great location, calm vibe, reasonably priced, attentive owner to beautiful property, the absolute best views I have ever seen, top notch food served at hotel restaurant (3 meals a day), spacious rooms with kitchen and refrigerator. If you come to Nevis, you MUST stay here!

Incredible stay on a quiet island paradise

Just got back from a two week stay at the Mount Nevis Hotel. What an incredibly beautiful setting! We were on a hillside overlooking the straits between the islands of Nevis and St. Kitts. We stayed in a superior room which had a kitchen and spacious living area with a good sized balcony. The hotel is comprised of a number of buildings with up to 12 rooms in each. Ours was perfect for the two of us with plenty of room to hang out. The main building has a comfy sitting area with a small library and bar which then leads out to the restaurant which overlooks the pool and that amazing view. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. The best part of Mount Nevis was the combination of Noreen, the owner, and Christina, her right hand person! They were there for us with whatever we needed! Noreen arranged all our transportation from St. Kitts airport to the hotel (taxi, water taxi and taxi!), had our rental car ready and waiting for us at the hotel and, best of all, managed to locate and reclaim one of our bags that had not made it to St, Kitts and got it to us within a day! Christina helped with dinner reservations, return transportation and all the little things we needed along the way. We would definitely recommend staying here! It’s a slice of paradise!

Pretty, updated room and bathroom--just like the picture. Nice to have a clothes line in the shower between the windows. Small refrigerator and coffee maker in the room as well as safe. Extra linens in the closet. There were fluffy bathrobes for sitting on our balcony enjoying our morning coffee overlooking the grounds and the straits between Nevis and St. Kitts. Pool is wonderful with fantastic view and plenty of seating. Fitness room was open and equipped, however we did not use it. We enjoy dining al fresco and dining with a view is a wonderful experience. There were no excessive wait times in the dining room. The menus did not change except for specials but that was not an issue for us as there were 10 choices for breakfast ($12-$20USD) 8 for lunch ($16-$25) and 10 entrees for dinner ($28-$44) plus 6 appetizers and 4 desserts. We were there a week and ate lunch and dinner there many times. I preferred 2 appetizers to an entree for dinner, my husband had a dinner that was more filling for him. We so enjoyed our meals, we often chose the same thing again. We skipped breakfast but occasionally stopped by the Sweet and Savoury bakery nearby and stocked up on select items. The hotel staff are excellent. The owner, Noreen, and the manager, Christine, are on the property daily enabling them to keep control of any issues that arise and are available to assist with client's requests--including bandages for unexpected boo-boos. They were so aware of the clients' needs that they stepped in to assist with our car rental that was going sideways and a taxi request that was not responded to in a timely manner. Being greeted by name by the office, bar and waitstaff, daily felt very special and made their service so personal.

Great vibe for our first stay in Nevis

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The grounds of Mount Nevis Hotel are well kept with beautiful and serene views, and when we checked in, we personally were greeted by the owner-operators who were consistently helpful throughout our stay. We often stay at relatively high-end chain hotels and it was nice to encounter such personalized (and personable) service for a change. Although there were some minor inconveniences, it was a delight to spend time with the owners learning about their family’s experience on Nevis (which covers almost four decades), and the welcoming feel of the property resulted in an overall very positive stay. For our first visit to the island, it was so nice to have on-site dining, a nice pool and a host that went so far as to arrange a rental car and have it delivered to the hotel for the period we needed one. We chose to take the much faster water taxi from southern St. Kitts to the northern tip of Nevis, from which the hotel can be reached in a matter of minutes. We made our way around the island, with stops at the botanical garden, various beaches and meals at various restaurants. It was a great home base, and we even had furnishings that would have allowed us to cook in the room if we had wanted to. Our time flew by even though we had a very relaxing itinerary. We look forward to returning and hope our next visit isn’t too far away!
