We checked in on the 30th December and checked out on the 2nd; a brief stay but very pleasant. After the disappointment of an ice cold pool at The Leela Palace, Jaipur, stepping into the lovely warm infinity pool at this hotel was a joy. The rooms were well appointed and we had good buffet breakfasts, plus a superb meal at the Japanese restaurant. At a time when the air quality in New Delhi was rated as 500 (ie shockingly poor), this particular location rated 162 (ie pretty poor). This is because the hotel is located in a less populous part of the city, the diplomatic quarter to be precise, where you'll not find too many, if any, beggars, and where the roads are wide and the traffic semi-sane. The Leela is a welcoming beacon, and we made the most of it, booking a Mercedes to ferry us around the city, and BMW to take us back to the airport. It's life in India, but not as many know it.

I was really looking forward to visiting Delhi and this hotel. It’s been many years since I’m lost to Delhi and it has changed. Some changes have been in a good way and other others have been not so good. However, the Leela Palace is the best hotel I have ever stayed in in the world. Everything from being picked up in the airport, to the check-in, to the rooms and Royal club Lounge and restaurants were spectacular. The attention to detail in everything from the artwork on the walls to the relaxation of the spa and fitness area were all curated to make sure that the experience was exceptional. The staff went over and above to make sure that we were properly looked after. There were a few staff members who really get stand out, including: Vivek (a waiter in royal club lounge); Jasdeep (doorman); Ayan (a manager the qube); Sumit (front office manager) and Rudra (front office manager). We had one small issue and that’s our room was above the New Year’s Eve party setting. Sumit was excellent in dealing with this the following day and extremely apologetic and sincerely so. We will absolutely be staying in this amazing hotel if we visit Delhi again. It will be our first choice chain of hotels when we visit any city that have a Leela Palace.
