The Leela Palace New Delhi

EXCEPTIONAL FIRST CLASS STAY AT THE LEELA PALACE My wife and I have just returned from a six-night stay at the Leela Palace in New Delhi. From the moment we arrived in New Delhi and exited the arrivals hall we were provided exceptional First-Class service. At the airport we were greeted by two members from the Leela Palace who took our luggage and escorted us to our chauffeur driven 7 Series BWM transporting us in comfort through the chaotic Delhi traffic to the Leela. Upon arrival at the Palace, we were greeted by numerous staff members from security to the formal doorman and several of the reception and bell staff. Check in was very comfortable with a cold drink and comfy couch to complete the process. From there we were escorted to our suite by our butler, where he gave us an overview of the hotel, our suite and the services offered throughout. The suite was beautiful and absolutely spotless with a variety of welcome offerings. During our stay the level of service was not just superior but, completely off the chart. Every staff member you pass gives you a warm welcome and smile and they really go out of their way to ensure your stay is memorable. The breakfast is fantastic with a wide variety of both cooked to order and buffet style offerings sure to please everyone. The offerings were varied in that there was something there that would appeal to the diverse guests. The Royal Club lounge was once again a really First-Class experience with several buffet style food and snack offerings throughout the day. Whether you want a High Tea or a cocktail its all on offer in the club. The atmosphere was calming, relaxing, warm and quiet, a really nice spot to meet and simply relax and enjoy the hospitality at the Leela Palace. There is a lovely roof top infinity pool that looks out over New Delhi with top quality comfortable loungers and umbrellas to relax above the hustle and bustle of the city below. The staff there are very welcoming providing us with our own personal cooler filled with ice and cans of both still and sparkling water, delicious homemade lemonade and cold towels. Definitely a real bonus and once again another great spot to relax. The spa at the hotel is beautiful and the services provided while in my opinion quite expensive are indeed very nice and I would recommend treating yourself to at least a massage during your stay. Upon departing the palace we were once again transported in the BMW to the airport, escorted into the airport, checked in and delivered to immigration by the Leela’s airport team reducing the stress of navigating the very busy New Delhi airport. Consistently the Leela Palace far exceeded my expectations in every category. I would without hesitation highly recommend the Exceptional First-Class Hotel in New Delhi.

We have been staying for afternoon cocktail and drinks as well as for dinner in this beautifull place. But the beauty of this outstanding property was even topped by the service and care which was granted to us by a gentleman and somelier called Atul Kumal Dwivedi, who ist is just an outstanding "connaisseur" of the wine list in the inhouse Fine-Dining restaurant "Le Cirque". Coming from France the gentle reception and profound and professional advise we had the pleasure to receive from Atul was far beyond our expectations. Thanks so much, dear Atul. We had a four day stay in Delhi and it was the first time we had stayed in Leela Palace Hotel. Wow, what a wonderful and unforgettable experience we had at this place. Starting from a very warm welcome by the staff with garlands and Kumkum (a cultural symbol of red powder placed at the center of forehead, a symbol of good luck) and a cold welcome herbal drink. We were accompanied by the staff to the room, which was spacious and had a city view. After the staff left, we found a cigarette butt on the carpet and my wife was quite upset( she is allergic to cigarettes)and called the reception. They sent a manager right away who was extremely apologetic, had the room vacuumed and moved us to an upgraded room next day. This really showed that the hotel cared for the clients more than anything else. We found that the hotel was hosting the Prime Minister of Canada (Mr. Carney)and his delegation on a State visit to India. we were very fortunate to see him at the lobby and he was very kind enough to have a picture with us, another highlight of our trip. Our breakfast every morning at the Qube restaurant in the hotel was one of the highlights of the stay. Being vegetarians, we had plenty of choice ranging from Indian to Continental to Asian fares and it was abundant. The staff at the restaurant were bending backwards to serve us. Their smile and care almost sated our appetites. In fact the day we left the staff that served us at Qube gathered around us to take a picture with us and bid us a farewell. It was indeed an emotional event. We felt they treated us more like a part of a family rather than clients at the hotel. We strongly recommend anyone to stay in Leela palace when you are in Delhi and experience the true Hospitality.
