We ended our 10 day trip to India at the Oberoi New Delhi. It is hard to encapsulate fully the top level, indulgent, personal, luxurious experience we experienced during our stay. But we are now in real trouble as it’s by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Up until this trip the Jumeriah Al Naseem was that title holder! This place surpassed it by a distance. I cried when we left as I wanted to stay longer! A totally wonderful, family stay, where we were all made to feel like celebrities. I’d go back in a heartbeat to stay here, but I’m hoping my husband will take me to some of the other Oberoi hotels in India in the future so we can experience the delights of this hotel chain again. Both restaurants on site were exceptional both in terms of food quality/taste and service. Thank you to absolutely every member of staff who made our short stay so memorable.

Truly top notch hotel. One of the best service experiences I've ever had, from airport pickup, check-in, housekeeping (so thoughtful with their little presents for the kids), through to the restaurants and other staff. The facilities are amazing and the breakfast buffet is outstanding (if not indulgent). Our family of four (including small kids) felt so well taken care of. The breakfast buffet was so plentiful, tasty, and extensive that many days we ate breakfast and found ourselves too full to eat again until late afternoon. The cost of staying can be a bit high, but the amenities are worth it.

Every Oberoi hotel is an epitome of hospitality and will always make you feel at home. This place is no exception. From start to finish every employee went over and above to meet all your needs. My only wish was to stay longer. Never look beyond Oberoi if you can

This is an absolutely superb hotel, and easily five star. I don’t really understand how anybody could think that this hotel was not exceptional. I would happily stay again. Major positives: - Everything about the hotel just oozes class and quality, from the public areas through to the furnishings in the rooms. You can clearly tell that a lot of time, attention, and money goes into the upkeep and maintenance of this place. - All of the staff were very friendly, and highly professional. I’m terrible with names, and I know that this is a big thing in India, so sorry! However, a special shout out to Uzais, my housekeeper. I returned to my room one afternoon to find a handwritten note explaining that they had noticed my toothpaste was almost empty, and had provided me with a new one for my convenience. This was really surprising and unreal service. - The breakfast spread is very impressive, with a huge range of delicious options, both prepared and made to order. - The air purification system was a godsend during some extremely polluted Delhi days when the AQI was 350+. This is an underrated aspect of the hotel and I think it’s worth mentioning. - They have a WhatsApp where you can contact the concierge at any point, which is very useful for those, like me, who prefer typed communication to phone calls. This is a big perk for the younger generations, and is a smart, forward-thinking move. To improve (this is all at a high level, but I’m holding the hotel to the impeccable standards it seeks to reach): - Be aware if you’re booking a Premier Plus Room directly on the website. It clearly states that stays in this room category come with complimentary two-way airport transfer. However, when I asked to arrange this, I was told that this was an error. To be fair, they did honour it, so no complaints, but it was a bit awkward to show them a screenshot from their own website which contradicted what they were telling me. I imagine that this will be quickly removed from the website - or at least I hope so! - WiFi was non-existent in some random places, such as the bathroom and at the tables near the windows of the man restaurant. I feel like this is an easy fix. - After having stayed at their competitor Leela Palace at the start of my trip, there is very little to separate them. However, in comparison, perhaps the staff here were a TOUCH more uptight and some of the older staff were perhaps a LITTLE more snobbish and superficially judgemental of a 36 year old leisure traveller wearing t shirts like myself, who didn’t conform to expectations of ‘wealthy CEO-type’. I feel this was seen very occasionally in the slowness of service I sometimes received at breakfast and in the attitude of a couple of staff at the desk and door. I’m not sure how easy this is to ‘fix’, because clearly the bulk of guests do conform to a certain type, but I did feel very slightly looked down upon on one or two very brief occasions. - The Lounge was generally really great, with great food, drinks, and staff. However, again in comparison to the Leela, I think more could be done to make it a bit cosier and welcoming. The abundance of dark wood was a little austere. The policy of having to show a special paper card to prove eligibility was also a bit weird - I’ve never had to do this before in other hotels. Why a simple room number doesn’t suffice I don’t know.
