Wonderful Couples long weekend at the Mount Washington

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 hours ago

My husband I spent a long weekend at the Mount Washington Hotel in their Presidential Wing. It was wonderful. The room spacious, the bathroom perfect and the balcony view amazing. We also enjoyed the Presidential lounge continental breakfast and happy hour. Everyone in the Hotel was extremely accommodating and helpful. The common rooms were very elegant and appealing. The open porches were an amazing place to sit and have a drink or just watch the beautiful scenery. We also made use of the fire pits and heated pool at night watching the stars. Our only complaint is the pool should have been warmer!! A wonderful experience - highly recommend.

A Unique and Historic Property

This is a lovely hotel from the golden age of hotels in the North East. It has an amazing setting; nested in the embrace of the White Mountains, with Mount Washington looming majestically in front and with only a gold course and wilderness in between. Gorgeous and relaxing! Plus, this is a wonderful place to bring the family for a quick getaway. You really do not have to leave the grounds. It’s also very quiet. This time, I stayed in the older part of the hotel in a Corner Vista Room and loved it. My only ding is that they need to refresh the landscaping by the outdoor bar that has been overrun by dandelions. This is minor, but they should attend to it.

Not ADA Compliant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

If you are an individual with any mobility challenges or traveling with someone with mobility issues, do not stay here. The lower level hallway ramp is too steep. All bathroom doorknobs and door swings don't meet ADA compliance. There aren't wheelchair accessible parking spots in proximity to the primary entrance, and the staff are unaware of where the accessible facilities (bathrooms, elevator, entrances, etc) are located.

Heaven Vacation at Omni Mt. Washington Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

The location of the Omni Mt. Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH is magnificently beautiful. The hotel stands like an island surrounded on all sides by the White Mountains, with the highest peak (Mt. Washington directly behind the resort. The location alone makes it worth the stay. There are many more pluses to this resort. Multiple restaurants serve a delicious variety of food, and the wait staff is incomparable. Actually, all the staff is amazing. The best, most friendly service we have ever experienced. The rooms are beautiful and every room has view of the mountains and forest. There are also stables, two golf courses, and even an oversized outdoor chess set. There are multiple outdoor areas with chairs for guests, including several firepits. The huge porches are also filled with lovely seating areas. Of course, the history of the hotel definitely adds to the whole experience. Make sure you take the time to visit the rooms named after several presidents, as well as the gold room which has an important place in world history. There are several fun bars, including The Cave which was once a speak easy. Sooo much to enjoy!

Beautiful, until you look closer. Poor customer service experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Upon check-in we were charged for our stay, that we’d actually already paid for via our travel company. We informed the check-in desk of this, but they proceeded to take payment anyway and said they’d put it on hold and request the payment from the travel company. No real apology for the confusion, and the overall check in experience was poor because of this. In the meantime I emailed the travel company who have told me the payment hold should be removed, or we’ll be refunded. Yet to receive a refund, although the payment has been taken from our account. We couldn’t get a dining reservation until 8pm, which I thought was quite inconvenient. We ended up at the train station style restaurant further down the road. My husband ordered fish and chips, and said it was the worst fish and chips he’d ever had. I ordered a burger and asked for no onions and it arrived with onions. It had to be remade and then arrived as my husband finished his meal. So not the best dining experience at all. The hotel itself is really beautiful, as are the rooms. But if you look closely lots of the carpets are worn, chunks missing out of wooden skirting, and dirty grout in the bathrooms. Not really what I’d expect for a $500/600 a night hotel. We stayed here as part of a New England road trip. This being our most expensive hotel vs the Hilton’s and Best Westerns we were also staying at. And this one proved to be our least favourite overall.
