Reviews for Hotel Monteleone

The Gem of New Orleans Hotels

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

This is one of my favorite hotels ANYWHERE. The location could not be better with proximity to the all the French Quarter has to offer. The price for our suite was very reasonable and much less than a similar suite at either the Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons and I place Hotel Monteleone solidly in this category of hotel. The furnishing and decor in our room was top quality and very comfortable. The Carousel Bar is one of the best bars in the world. The lobby, bar and lounge areas are always bustling and a great place for people watching. We enjoyed two days at the pool and the only recommendation I can offer is please get a larger selection of available wines and spirits at the pool bar.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars — A Truly Exceptional Stay at Hotel Monteleone!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars — A Truly Exceptional Stay at Hotel Monteleone! I recently stayed at Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans while attending a conference, and I have to say—it was an incredible experience from start to finish. This hotel exudes classic New Orleans charm and sophistication. It’s located just one block from Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, so you’re right in the heart of all the action while still enjoying a peaceful, elegant atmosphere once you step inside. The property was spotlessly clean, the service was phenomenal, and every detail was handled with care. The conference facilities and catering were excellent, but what truly stood out was the hotel staff—especially the room service and housekeeping teams. Each evening, I returned to find my room refreshed with an impressive turndown service: chocolates on the bed, my robe laid out neatly, slippers waiting, everything perfectly folded, and even the bathroom recleaned. It’s those small touches that make a big difference—and this hotel delivers them flawlessly. I also want to give a special shout-out to Staci, the night manager. She went above and beyond during my stay. When I called for a wake-up call, she actually remembered me from the night before and asked if everything was going well. She even shared a bit of the hotel’s fascinating history—including its reputation for being haunted! It was such a fun and personal touch that made the experience all the more memorable. Having stayed previously at the Hotel Omni during another visit to New Orleans, I can confidently say that Hotel Monteleone is in a league of its own. From the beautiful historic ambiance to the top-tier service, it’s a true five-star experience in every way. If you’re visiting the French Quarter—whether for business, pleasure, or a little of both—I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Monteleone. It’s elegant, welcoming, and authentically New Orleans. I’ll definitely be returning!

Great hotel

We had a lovely stay at this hotel in the Royal Tower. Our room was so quiet, bed was comfy, bathroom was large. The pool area was nice. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, but we did sit at the carousel bar one night (got lucky and found two seats) and hung out in the lounge another night when they had a band playing. The location is fabulous and we walked almost everywhere or caught the streetcar on Canal St. Would definitely stay here again.

Good location

Wonderful location and great rooms. Our group (30+) had some meals in the downstairs room which was serviced by Russell, a true treasure to the hotel, and his staff, who took care of all of us. Shout outs to Stephen and Stephanie. The reason for a good rating is that the hotel is not really ADA compliant, unless you go around the corner and enter through the garage. I used their steps to go up and down and noticed that a handrail, which I needed, was loose and told a staff member and it was still loose the day I left.
