Just stayed here for the third time in three years. Everything seemed better this year -- cleaner room and better service. Surprisingly, my room was very quiet, given that it's in the heart of the French Quarter. If you want quiet, ask for an interior room. You won't have a view, but you'll sleep better.

This is our sixth time to stay in this iconic hotel and it's always a memorable experience. The staff goes out of their way to exceed your expectations. The location is perfect for visiting local culture, both day and night. Don't miss spending some time in the Carousel Bar. It's worth a couple revolutions. We'll keep returning.

The Hotel Monteleone is a fabulous hotel well situated in French quarter. We stayed here for 5 nights in a smallish but really cosy and comfortable room. The hotel has a pool on the rooftop which was great. We never ate in the hotel but did have a drink at the famous Carousel bar. The only downside we experienced was there was a cocktail conference in New Orleans on our last 2 days which apparently brought 10,000 visitors. A lot of the conference was held in the hotel and at times it seemed that all 10,000 visitors were in the hotel it was so busy and noisy. The real disappointment for us was because of the conference we were denied access to the pool between 11am and 4pm which didn't seem fair. Despite this we would definitely recommend the Monteleone but would advise you to check if there's a conference on during your stay.

Spent a work week here and they couldn't have been nicer. Very personalized service, which they pride themselves on. Criollo Restaurant is excellent for breakfast and dinner. Wonderful gumbo, Beignets with Praline Sauce & Strawberries ruins you for regular beignets.
