We had a great experience at the Monteleone the week between Christmas and New Years. Our trip was to celebrate our daughter's 8th birthday and we had a great time with it. The staff were all the best with their hospitality from the valet to the door staff to the check-in staff. Everyone was helpful and positive and added to a wonderful experience. We appreciate that there was a kind acknowledgement of the birthday celebration we were in town for and for delivering a small treat to us along with a personalized card. What a great experience! We look forward to being back.

The rooms are incredibly comfortable which made it easy to truly relax. The location is unbeatable — close to everything and perfect for exploring while still feeling peaceful and luxurious. This is hands-down one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve ever stayed in, but what truly sets it apart is the housekeeping staff. They went above and beyond every single day — attentive, thorough, and genuinely thoughtful in a way you rarely see anymore. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a flawless stay in the French Quarter!

We really loved staying at this hotel. Our plan was to stay for one night at a hotel within the French border in this place did not disappoint. It was vibrant and bright. The rooms were clean, but the staff really said this place hard. Sharisse checked us in and provided excellent customer service with information about the hotel in this surrounding neighborhood. Stacie checked us out and was just as helpful and informing us about the option to take a taxi to save costs. These two ladies, on the front end, and on the back end, made our experience remarkable!

This was our fourth stay at Hotel Monteleone, so we obviously love it. Great location, wonderful service, lovely lobby, and the Carousel Bar is a must do. The rooms are clean, and well appointed, although I wish the mattresses were a little softer. The lobby, and city outside, is often bustling, but we never notice it from our little sanctuary. We had a tiny little issue with housekeeping- not a big deal, but when I alerted staff about happened, they took care of it quickly, and professionally. That, to me, is the mark of a true 4 star hotel- mistakes happen, but how it’s dealt with is what earns my trust, loyalty, and confidence in a brand. Staff, including those at the Carousel Bar, are always friendly, efficient, and welcoming. From the front desk to the doorman, everyone working at Hotel Monteleone makes us feel appreciated and valued as guests! My only complaint is how expensive room service fees have gotten, but it seems like prices everywhere in New Orleans have skyrocketed. We will definitely be coming back to the beautiful city of New Orleans, and when we do, we’ll be staying at Hotel Monteleone.

Go to Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton if looking for a luxury experience. We stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel on our last visit and thought Monteleone would be similar in elegance and refinement. We were disabused of that idea. The worn and stained carpeting leading from the entrance into the hotel lobby, the obnoxious, entitled male guests bullying the women and the boisterous drunks at the Carousel Bar let us know that this would not be a four, must less a five-start experience. We had heard much about the vaunted history of the Hotel Monteleone but we should have dug deeper. This hotel isn't worth the price and doesn't live up to its online reputation. Be prepared to encounter loud influencers at the Carousel Bar, toxic males in the hotel lobby and a management that caters to all those negative personalities. We even found a bloodstain on a hotel towel AFTER we had used it. We thought it might be from us since it still retained hints of red and we tried washing it but nothing came out. That's when we were truly disgusted by whatever it was. Even the gracious and efficient staff can't make up for those shortcomings. From Juliajoy at the front desk to Tashameika in valet parking, the front of the house staff was solid so there must be something wrong with management. The hotel is running on its history as the "oldest" family run in the French Quarter but stay at a boutique hotel in the French Quarter if you want a restful, dignified stay.
