This hotel has an excellent location for experiencing the Quarter, Canal Street, and even parts of the CBD. It’s one of the oldest hotels in the city and a beautiful one. This hotel is always crowded with conventioneers and tourists. The carousel bar is famous in New Orleans and if you can find a seat ,lots of fun. The lobby is beautiful with crystal chandeliers and marble floors. Even crowded, check in was efficient and quick. We were upgraded to a larger room(no idea why). This hotel is an old grand hotel and rooms vary quite a lot. We have stayed in rooms not much bigger than a closet to this large room. It’s part and parcel of a old hotel. The Monteleone does constantly renovate. Our room was large with a view of the river. The bathroom was also large with bathtub/shower combination, double sinks, and plenty of counter space. My only complaint was the bed, nice linens but I thought the bed was somewhat hard.

For a luxury hotel, it was just okay. The lobby and pool area were luxurious. The room was small and there was not adequate working room if one was using a laptop. Half the desk top space was taken up with a phone (there was another phone on the bedside table just 6 feet away), lamp, and coffee maker. There was not enough electric outlets for chargers. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly, but really not much room, especially the bathroom was small, with little counter space for personal toiletries. Overall, I expected more luxury from a luxury hotel, but the location is good for activities, staff is attentive, space is clean, and quiet enough considering the music outside and inside. We stayed in a traditional king room on the sixth floor.

This was a business trip but the historical view of the hotel made it a special place to stay. The hotel was accessible to all of the French quarter making it easy to walk To any of the most favorite places in the quarter

If it’s the whole French Quarter, New Orleans experience you’re after, Hotel Monteleone HAS to be your #1 choice. This historic hotel is stunning, brilliantly located and super freindly. The roof top pool area is beautiful and the bar area is great with fabulous evening entertainment.

We stayed in the room with the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and had a lovely view of the Mississippi River. Staff was kind, attentive and efficient. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. We had plenty of towels, soaps, and amenities. We had to park our car which is only valet service, but it was always fast. The roof pool is lovely and heated. Our only disappointment is the hotel is supposedly haunted and we didn't see any ghosts!
