Hotel Monteleone was amazing! We will absolutely stay here again. The location was great - so close for walking places but a street over from the noise and crazy. The atmosphere of the hotel is understated, friendly, and warm. We didn’t see many kids but we had our toddler and she always felt welcome and enjoyed smiling and interacting with staff and guests. We ended up eating breakfast at the hotel restaurant daily bc of the value, ease, and food quality - way better than expected! The hotel bar has live music nightly which was such a treat for us since we didn’t want to venture out with our toddler in the evenings.

I’d definitely recommend. Loved the carousel bar. So close to Bourbon Street and able to walk around the French Quarter.

Quite a lovely space to center in! We took our scheduled tour group stay, and extended it for independent time on both ends. The staff were quite easy to work with for reservations without needing a room change, and they were always on hand to answer questions or flawlessly deal with details. I had forgotten the pleasure of having a front doorman! While we did not attend the Carousel Bar, we were some of many that swarmed the Criollo Restaurant on a morning of unexpected rain. The food is very good, and offers a reasonable selection of breakfast standards and NOLA-specific dishes. It can be a little confusing which menu is in effect, however, since all of them are posted at the door. As an independent hotel, and a fairly old one, there are a few bits of aging hardware in the rooms, but nothing out of service or blocking the pleasure of the room. Well worth the stay!

Fri to sun stay, wake up sat and no hot water. Multiple calls to the front desk and each time it was temporary or just fixed and told to give it some time. Sunday morning we had cold showers before check out. Not a pleasant experience. Come by check out the carousel bar and have a drink but stay somewhere else.

Lovely hotel in the FQ. Easy to walk everywhere. We booked mainly because of the Carousel Bar. Luckily, we tried it the night we arrived mid week, and didn’t need to wait long for seats. Drinks and food were great and it is a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, our last night, which was a Friday, getting near the Carousel or the regular bar was impossible because of non-hotel guests. It remained that way all evening and was quite a disappointment. If this is the main reason you are booking at this hotel, it’s good to know this in advance!
