I stayed here for three nights for a work retreat. The hotel is much bigger than it looks on the outside. They have everything here - a rooftop pool and bar, a gym, business center and multiple conference rooms. The hotel is also in the middle of all the action in the French Quarter. I heard the bands playing from the street well into the night. The food served by the hotel for our conference events was also memorable. Not your standard hotel food fare. They offered multiple Creole-inspired dishes I had never tried before. They kept us well fed to say the least! My only hang-up was the decor; it's old-fashioned, which I guess is in keeping with the historic area.I also found the gym very hot (only one fan) and limited in the equipment it offered for such a big place. I would come back though!

My husband and I spent five nights in this elegant, classic hotel while we participated in a Road Scholar program in New Orleans. As we read about the hotel, we understood that descriptors such as “historic” and “grand” convey different meanings to different people, so we didn’t really know what to expect. However, we were delighted the moment we walked into the expansive lobby and were extremely impressed with the staff throughout our stay. This hotel truly is a hallmark for hospitality and comfort. The room was immaculately clean, the staff was attentive but not intrusive, and the overall appearance and operation of the hotel exhibited the pride of generations of family ownership. We ate several breakfasts and one dinner at the Criollo Restaurant and had a drink at the famed Carousel Bar and were never disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. The hotel's location in the heart of the French Quarter made getting around New Orleans a snap. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is lovely and we had a fabulous stay. Needs a little improvement on the maid service but overall great. Food was very good and service was good. Everyone at the hotel couldn't do enough. We would stay here again.

This hotel is special because of its historical place in the French Quarter. It was not a cookie cutter design, but an elegant old world experience. The food in the restaurant is fabulous! The staff tries to go above and beyond. The location is perfect and we always felt safe. I loved staying here (2nd time).

If only the walls could talk. Our rooms had been refurbished and were lovely. The hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. Quiet at night. The only disappointment was we never could get a seat at the carousel bar. On the other hand, the roof top bar was great fun. The place has the feel of a grand old hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.
