My husband and I came to New Orleans for the first time, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. My grandmother recommended this hotel and so we made a reservation. The staff was great, our room was amazing, they even upgraded us to an amazing view. The location is perfect and you definitely felt safe. Loved it!

Starting with the negatives, Monteleone has smallish rooms, with very small T&B - less than 5 sq m. It has antiquated shower controls which doesn’t allow you to control volume, only temperature. Now for the positives - the room has classic draperies with matching bed ruffles. The wallpaper is cute and lends character to the room. The room décor is very tasteful – elegant mirrors, wall hangs, expensive looking lamps, fancy woodwork – headboard, TV-minibar-dresser cabinet, night tables, desk. I appreciated that doors between rooms can be opened – which we needed since we were a family and we booked two rooms. Appreciated - coffee machine, lots of pillows, full towel sets, enough TV channels, wifi setup a breeze, modern clock with electric outlets. Lobby was very 'old world' charming with great classic 'turn of century' elegant look, several elevator wells, fantastic showy façade that out-impresses all other hotels in the area. Location is perfect – its in the middle of the French Quarter but a street removed from the frat-party-noise and atmosphere of Bourbon St. But what impressed me most was the work ethic and beyond-duty service orientation of the loyal staff, most of whom had worked for the hotel for lots of year. From doormen to bellhop to front desk to Criollo waiters, everyone was exceptional.

LOVE the Monteleone. I purposely stay here whenever visiting New Orleans. From the Valet when I park my car to the housekeeping staff everyone is professional and well trained in customer service. I haven't had an issue yet over te 7-8 years that I have used this hotel to where I would walk away with a bad memory.
