So for $500.00 a night am very disappointed about the size of the room as well as the fact we have no window. We stay in the Quarter often and decided to try something new, well this has been a mistake. I think they decided to turn the broom closet into a room.

My sister and I went for her 63rd birthday, would definitely not stay anywhere but here. Beautiful hotel, roof top pool, outstanding room service (Kimberly and Kevin). Staff is friendly and eager to assist. You can walk or take a pedicab, close to Bourbon, Canal, you name it. Great find. Make sure you go to Cafe Bienget on Royal Street. Only one complaint, we had to check in early and front desk staff never called to say room was ready. Lucky for us we were out and about because it was 6 hrs before we returned and still no call by 3pm. Next day we were able to get a handicapped room and again no call stating it was ready. Overall great room, cleanliness, bell staff. Stop in Carousel bar, you may be lucky like us and get a seat at bar.

My 3 traveling friends, of manyyyy years, and I had the most delicious breakfasts and lunch at Criollos. The staff matches the rest of hotel, with their charming friendly welcomes. And the food is outstanding. The beignets are to die for and outdo the Cafe Dumonte by a long shot with Florian’s praline sauce and strawberries added. The two managers surprised us, at our last breakfast, with Brut and beignets, on top of a complimentary breakfast. Char was our delightful server, and Florian, the special parties manager, was on top of it all. This fourth generational owned hotel is unique, so why do a chain, when you can have it all at the Monteleone. Thank you, Florian and staff for a lovely 4 days.

We arrived by car and stored it in the hotel garage (its pretty expensive, but a painless process to do) and checked in. Our room was small but luxurious. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant The Crillo and my husband used the gym facilities on the top floor. Unfortunately it was quite windy during our stay as I would like to have had a drink on the top floor bar over looking the heated pool. The line for the famous Carousel bar started way before it opens at 11am and it always had a queue waiting of people to get a seat. We didnt bother and went to the bar adjacent where there was live jazz playing. It was wonderfully relaxing and on our last night James Williams and The garden shrimp were playing. Totally amazing and something I will never forget. If you are visiting NOLA, this hotel has it all. Places I'd recommend: Frenchmen Street, if you are in to live jazz and GW Fins for dinner if you like seafood. Totally overrated was Acme oyster house (around the corner from the hotel, maybe we ordered wrong but the oyster po-boy was meh) and the famous Cafe du Monde beignets were alright but the cafe itself is pretty rundown so we didnt linger. Bourbon Street is awful! Unless you like drunk people and scammers trying to entice you into some scam!
