Hotel Monteleone

The carousel bar is absolutely gorgeous! You could stay all day in there! Such beauty!

Staying at Monteleone made my visit to New Orleans memorable. All staff and amenities outperformed expectations. My room was comfortable and my request to stay in a quiet part of the hotel was fulfilled. If you go, don't miss the Carousel Bar presentation! It was great learning about the hotel's history and its many well-known visitors along with the quirky backgroud of the French Quarter. I would return to Monteleone again and again.

From the moment we arrived at the Hotel Monteleone, we knew we picked the right place. Every interaction from the bell staff and front desk to the employees throughout the lobby was warm, welcoming, and genuinely memorable. One of my favorite moments was chatting with a gentleman in the lobby who helped with our luggage. We mentioned we were visiting from Pennsylvania, and he shared that his very first job was in Pennsylvania and actually knew our area. It was one of those authentic conversations that makes you feel more like a guest than just another room number. Our room in the older section was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping and the nightly turndown service were exceptional. We also spent plenty of time at the pool, where the staff and bartender were fantastic. The drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the Fourth of July pop-up DJ made for a really fun afternoon. The service was so personal that one of the bartenders recognized us by name when we ran into her on the street a few days later. The only miss during our stay was the famous Carousel Bar. We never managed to get seats at the actual carousel during our four nights—which is understandable given how popular it is and being the 4th of July weekend. We did sit just behind it. Unfortunately, the service there was noticeably unfriendly and felt completely out of step with the incredible hospitality we experienced everywhere else in the hotel. That one experience wasn't enough to overshadow an otherwise outstanding stay. Between the beautiful historic décor, unbeatable French Quarter location, easy access to everything, and a staff that truly cares about its guests, Hotel Monteleone absolutely lived up to the hype. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

great place to stay Great location and beautiful historic property, and the staff were kind enough to give us anniversary gifts at check-in. Unfortunately, our stay was significantly disrupted by a complete power outage overnight (midnight to 7 AM) due to a blown transformer, leaving us without electricity, AC, or water for about seven hours — on our anniversary night. We were also incorrectly charged a pet fee for our service animal, which had to be corrected at checkout. No compensation or acknowledgment of the outage was offered. Would love to return under normal circumstances.

This time was my worst experience ever. I mentioned that the power was out for hrs, my ladt night there.I couldn't sleep because I couldn't plug up my cpap machine. The water pressure was down also so, I couldn't brush my teeth nor bath. I couldn't get my car to leave because it was on the 2nd floor of the parking garage.
