I would never stay here again

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed here for the Jazz Festival as part of our VIP package. We were looking forward to staying here after reading all the positive reviews. However, this is hotel far from a VIP experience. We ended up packing our bags and moving to a nearby hotel. • The carpet had a large red stain in the middle, likely from a previous cleaning attempt that left it musty and sticky. • The bathroom sink did not drain properly and even backed up, leaving dirt and hair caked around it. • The shower tile and drain were problematic—the corroded drain was inset from the tile, making it catch debris and look unsightly. Mildew around the perimeter. • Additionally, there were two large handprints on the windows, which we had to clean ourselves upon arrival. It was disheartening to see someone else’s handprints when looking out the windows. • Could hear neighbors loud and clear through the walls

Horrible experience

Everything about the customer experience was terrible. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Horrible experience.

Good Location, Disappointing Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We had high hopes for this hotel, and were disappointed. We would probably give 2.5 stars if possible, but that felt too generous. The location is great and within easy walking distance of the French Quarter and the Riverwalk, but it lacks in any comfort if you are more than an overnight traveler. They have opted for the minimalist room design philosophy rather than making the room comfortable and welcoming. There were two uncomfortable chairs for seating, and that was it. No bureau to store clothes, no small couch or coffee table. We had to live out of our suitcases for three nights, and that significantly detracted from enjoying the hotel or feeling like you were on vacation. Be warned there is no self parking, so you are forced to use the valet. Pros: - Pet friendly - Location - Very prompt and courteous staff Cons: - No self parking. Valet only. There is an open public lot next door, but it is inconvenient for loading and unloading a car - Some small areas for pet relief, but that's all - Almost no storage room to unpack your suitcase(s). You'll be living out of that suitcase - Venetian blinds in the bathroom that didn't close all the way (perhaps you are the entertainment for the Harrah's casino next door?) - No refrigerator, but you could request a very small one (if they have spares)

Amazing Hotel

We had an amazing time staying here at Loews. The staff were all so friendly and the location was awesome. Definitely would highly recommend checking out this hotel when visiting New Orleans. It's super walkable to the Boardwalk and French Quarters.

Great hotel in an excellent location.

We really liked this hotel. We stayed here for three nights after a cruise. Our first impression was very positive in that we arrived at the hotel around 11 and we met with one of the Receptionists at the Front Desk. This lady was really pleasant and friendly. Our room was made available to us a little earlier than expected which was very welcome as my husband wasn’t feeling well. The room was large and comfortable. We had breakfast in the hotel each morning. It costs $26 per person and was good. There was fresh fruit, yoghurts, a selection of hot food - bacon, egg, potatoes, waffles, pancakes, porridge etc and a large station nearby where one can order omelettes cooked in front of you with all the trimmings. Another table had pastries, muffins etc. We also had dinner in the restaurant or bar each evening and enjoyed the food. We were there during Mardi Gras and many of the uptown parades finished up adjacent to the hotel which was very convenient. We were able to walk down to the river and to Bourbon Street and downtown areas with ease. All in all, our experience in Loews was very positive and I wouldn’t hesitate to return there.
