Reviews for Omni Royal Orleans

Not Impressed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I booked a room via the Omni website, not a third-party site, yet we were placed in a room on an upper floor and our room was right outside the elevators. There was heavy traffic coming in and out of the elevators after 10 p.m. making it extremely difficult to stay asleep. The view was less than stellar facing the middle opening to a flat roof and other blank walls of the hotel. The room was nice for an older hotel. It was a bit muggy, but its NOLA. I was not impressed and not sure I would stay again or recommend. That said, the staff was extremely friendly. The location was great.

A Calm Harbor in a Stormy Port!

Visiting NOLA during JazzFest is a wonderful experience - but it can be exhausting! I find that as soon as I enter the Omni Royal Orleans my stress level drops tenfold. The attentive staff sees to your every need and the environment is a throwback to the golden age of customer service and appreciation!

An excellent 40th bday stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I've already done a Rib Room review on Yelp - but will again highlight Kia's exceptional room service and attention to detail. She definitely made my birthday extra special. Joseph was also a hoot, in the bar - super friendly, professional and attentive. Our ladies group thought he was great! For the hotel - I've stayed here before. I absolutely LOVE the location, right in the Jackson square vicinity - just far enough away from Bourbon that you can faintly hear the shouting but close enough that it's a quick walk to the wild fun. There are always doormen and staff onsite, watching who comes in and out - felt very safe for the entirety of the trip. And they were always super sweet and held the door, loaded/unloaded our cars, etc (make sure you tip these gentlemen!) We didn't have a chiller in our tv center/dresser and when I asked nicely for one - we returned to our room to find a full mini fridge, which was a blessing to put our leftovers! I was SPOILED by this hotel for my 40th. I was always wished a happy bday, several treats and spirits delivered to my room, best service ever. And even though the little market closes at 8, it was never an issue for the front desk to open it to us upon late night returns and snacking. Our balcony overlooking St Louis and Royal was the highlight of it all - with excellent city views and sounds (someone always playing music on the corner). I was in heaven, just relaxing and taking it all in - in between traversing the city. I love the body products in the room - the tangerine lotion made my skin so smooth. My ONLY complaint was that there wasn't shampoo. I asked at least 4 housekeepers and no one had any. The room and bathroom was spacious (double bed with balcony) and clean. And the beds SO comfy. I hit the bed hard each night after lots of walking, eating and drinking a few. And I slept like a baby. I would suggest the staff look into cooling the gym, at the rooftop pool. It was so hot, stuffy and the water machine was great - but leaking water. I threw a towel down and put up the wet sign so no one slipped. The pool was wonderful. But we were disappointed that the bar wasn't open at all when we were there. People were always at the pool every day, so it would have been ideal for the bar to be open the same The room cost was steep - so it was nice to split the price with my close friend. If it had been a little lesser - I would have loved to have a private room with king and balcony all to myself for my 40th - but it was worth it. This hotel is wonderful and I had a fantastic stay. I was sad to check out and leave. Thank you for making my 40th such a memorable and lovely experience!

Loud and pricey.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The Omni Royal is a hotel in need of some upgrades. Rooms are small and loud. Hotel is built mainly from stone so all the hard surfaces make it very noisy. You hear doors slamming throughout the night. Security needs to learn to use their earpieces on radios after midnight.

It was our anniversary and we were greeted with Champaign in the room ! Great location ( if you want to be in historic center). Great service . It is a historic building so rooms are a bit outdated but clean . Everyone was very nice .
