Reviews for The Windsor Court

Our absolute favorite hotel in New Orleans

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

We have been visiting New Orleans once a year for at least the past ten years and have stayed at about six different hotels. We booked through the American Express Platinum card which included a room upgrade if available, $40 each for breakfast and $100 hotel credit. The hotel was in a very central location and easily walkable to most places. We were given an upgrade to a beautiful and spacious room on the 18th floor. The beds were very comfortable and appreciated the elegant classic decor. The omelet at breakfast was absolutely delicious and was able to have as many ingredient choices as we wanted, not just the usual 3 choices. Fresh fruit accompanied the omelet. The beignets were the best we had in New Orleans. Kimble, our server, was the ultimate in professionalism, personality and service. The doormen and staff at reception were very welcoming and aimed to please. The Windsor was a true oasis in New Orleans and would highly recommend. The large bouquet of 12 dozen beautiful roses in the lobby set the tone of elegance.

It is still the best

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Despite the interference of Carnival, the Windsor Court Hotel reaffirmed its reputation as New Orleans' premier hotel. The reception continues to be world-class, the rooms are spacious and delightfully decorated, breakfast is worth a special visit yet we were most surprised by the dinner offering. The service was engaging and knowledgeable, but we were particularly delighted to learn about long-term plans that include the reintroduction of legendary dishes that were once the restaurant's signature. Traditional hotel service remains the timeless measure of grand hotels.

A luxury hotel that lives up to the hype!

Came for a 4-night vacation. Windsor Court is ideally located within easy walking distance to the Riverwalk/waterfront, Caesar's casino, Canal street, Bourbon Street, the French Quarter and Frenchman Street - with convenient access to the streetcar lines as well. The courtyard setting is wonderful, and the staff - from doorman to the front desk, housekeeping, bar tenders, room service and spa were amazing. Really, everyone was friendly, professional and helpful. Our room was on the 18th floor and we had a river view which was great. Room was spacious and very comfortable, a tad dated, but everything was in good repair and very clean, so no complaints. The shower was great, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. I had several spa treatments during my stay and they were all amazing - therapists were great, the facilities are very nice. I didn't use the pool during our stay, but it's nice as well with plenty of seating. The biggest takeaway was the wonderful level of service, which made the hotel seem even nicer than it is. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Hotel, More Traditional Vibe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I tagged along with my husband on a work trip to New Orleans and spent the weekend before his meetings exploring the city. We began our stay at a lovely hotel in the Garden District, then moved to Windsor Court Hotel for the remainder of the trip. The room at Windsor Court was spacious and beautifully appointed, and the hotel itself is clearly well run and upscale. That said, after the tree-lined streets and historic homes of the Garden District, the surrounding neighborhood felt like a bit of a letdown. The overall vibe of the hotel leaned more traditional and old-school than my personal taste, bordering on stuffy. I can easily see this being a plus for travelers who appreciate a more classic feel. On the positive side, the location is very walkable to the French Quarter and several excellent restaurants, including St. John, Restaurant R’evolution, and Bearcat Cafe. I definitely got my steps in. Fourth Wall Coffee was also a great nearby spot for coffee. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and found Windsor Court to be a comfortable and polished option, even if the location and atmosphere were not quite my favorite compared to other parts of the city.
