Was a bit surprised the reviews were so great. The rooms are big (or at least mine was) and nicely decorated for the price. Nicely stocked on snacks, etc. (which are not free). Coffee and tea machine in room was appreciated. However, overall the rooms and bathrooms are older looking and feeling. Bathroom was a bit dirty. Water pressure wasn’t great. Thermostat didn’t allow me to change modes and coldest it went was 68. Very small front desk and when leaving attendant was nowhere to be found. Old windows are not soundproofed at all so it was very loud at night with street noise.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful stay at The Benjamin Hotel..elegant, calm, & perfectly located. A special shout-out to Carlos, the bartender at the hotel restaurant bar. He truly elevated the experience. Carlos is warm, attentive, & incredibly skilled—he makes fantastic espresso martinis and has a natural way of making guests feel welcome and taken care of. Whether it was a classic drink or something custom, everything he served was spot-on, and the conversation and energy he brought to the bar made it a place I actually looked forward to visiting each evening. If you’re staying at The Benjamin, don’t skip the bar…and definitely sit with Carlos. He’s a gem. I will definitely return to the Benjamin & Carlos’s espresso martinis.

Carlos truly went above and beyond during my stay. From the moment I arrived, he was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was perfect. He anticipated needs before I even had to ask, handled every request with professionalism and kindness, and made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another reservation. His positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile made a noticeable difference in my experience. Carlos is an absolute asset to this hotel, and his exceptional service is the kind that makes guests want to return and recommend the property to others.

My partner and I were looking for a boutique hotel and decided to try the Benjamin Sonesta. We were pleasantly surprised because the renovation looks amazing and the hotel has such a stylish feel. The location is perfect too since it is close to Rockefeller Center and a lot of great shopping. We also ate at the new restaurant The Parliament and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is intimate, the food was delicious, and the service was great. Carlos and Dimitro at the bar made our experience even better during our visit. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was large and had a great bed giving a great nights sleep. Room was very clean. The restaurant and bar area had just opened and the food and ambiance was a brilliant addition when not venturing out. The location of the hotel couldn’t have been any better either. The only small things that could have been better were: On the first night we had the restaurant opening party which after a long plain flight was noisy until 11.30. A little noise at night from fire engines in area. But these were very small inconveniences.

My stay was amazing. The only problem was with the room phones. I could not get them to work.

The hotel is in an excellent location, and the staff are extremely friendly and willing to assist with anything during your stay. They sent us a treat with a balloon and a handwritten note when they learned we were celebrating our anniversary. The rooms are very comfortable, renovated, and notably larger than many hotels in the city. I would definitely stay there again on a future visit.
