Visited for Sunday Brunch. Seated in a corner booth for a private relaxed birthday Brunch. Everyone in my party raved about their selections. Servers made us feel like we were the only party in the restaurant. A memorable celebration!

This was a beautiful hotel 15 years ago. It’s now dated and dirty. No updating. There are so many beautiful properties to choose from. The National is worth the trip with great food. Skip the accommodations.

We have stayed at the Benjamin a few times, it is one of our favourite hotels in NYC, great location, beautiful building, lovely comfortable rooms and we have always had a great stay but sadly not this time. We checked in on Weds 14/2 for 4 nights, and the first night was good. However, from Thurs until Sunday when we left, there was a disgusting, intense smell of strong marijuana permeating into our room the whole time. In the corridor outside our room it was overpowering, clearly someone close by was smoking a lot of joints, and despite repeated complaints to the hotel staff, nothing was done. When we checked out yesterday and complained to the Assistant Director of Front Office Operations, she offered no real explanation as to why they had done nothing to find out who was smoking illegally in the hotel, and to be honest was no help at all. We are so disappointed, we had recommended the hotel to friends who were also staying there at the same time with us and we feel let down and angry that our trip was blighted by this issue. Needless to say we won't be going back or recommending the hotel to anyone else. The only positive to note is that all of the doormen are fantastic, so helpful and friendly, but we are sad to the front desk staff don't match up to their standards. Very disappointed.

Was going to stay at the Doubletree but stayed at the Benjamin because the reviews were better. I regret that choice. The hotel staff were not friendly, the wifi was extremely spotty (and I was there for work so I needed the wifi), the safe did not work, no soap in the bathroom and the outside of the tub needed a good clean. I made my points known to hotel staff and they shrugged their shoulders. Will not stay there again.

We had a studio and really liked it. It was quite spacious for New York and clean. The location was perfect with the subway right across the street and 5th Ave 2 blocks away. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only small negative points would be that some plugs in the room did not work and the bad isolation of the window. But all in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel!
