The Benjamin Hotel is an excellent choice of hotels that provides outstanding service and great value. The rooms are lovely and the entire team is warm and professional. Our go to hotel for the past three years.

The Benjamin is a boutique hotel, centrally located on the corner of Lexington and East 50th. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the staff professional and helpful, and the restaurant is excellent. Within walking distance of the iconic Chrysler Building, and Grand Central Station, it is also close to tree-lined streets with elegant brownstones, Times Square and the Rockefeller Centre. MOMA is just around the corner. A great hotel in a great location.

This is a beautiful hotel but what really sets it apart is the exemplary service the staff provides the guests. I would particularly like to recognize the efforts of two of the staff that went above and beyond, Jamie and Elias were right there when you wanted something and greeted us with a smile and a Hi how can I help you. No request went unfulfilled. The rooms were large and clean and the decor was elegant and understated. But it truly was the staff that made our stay

I don’t normally stay at boutique hotels but got this gem by doing a Priceline express deal. Love everything about this from the friendly doormen who we have the pleasure of being greeted every time we exited and entered the building. Always offering to help with something from directions to rides. The beds were very comfortable. Loved the mini kitchen and very roomy for NY standards. Loved all the little corners for storing packages and suitcases keeping the room from clutter. Also, they have both heat and AC in the room and windows open about 3 inches for some fresh air! #winning The only downfall I would say about this is the size of the sink. The sink is very small causing water to get all over the counter when washing your face. Compared to the pluses this is really nothing to complain about, however, if you like doing your make up in a close-up mirror (they do offer a walk make-up mirror) you might want to ask if they have portable mirrors you could use at the desk or bring one from home! Otherwise everything else makes for a wonderful and comfortable stay!!

We are annual visitors to the Benjamin and often wonder why we return. Habit mostly. But also the location, room size (we generally take the 2 room king bed) and the excellent beds. The biggest issue this year for us was the $30 per day extra charge. It was not explained to us on check in and when we challenged it on check out we were told we should have seen it on the booking form. Also, a perennial gripe for us is the quality of the wifi, now "free" as it is covered by the $30 charge - you can upgrade but it is expensive. We remember the original hotel restaurant so the National is certainly an improvement on that but is overpriced for what it is and the service is patchy. There are too few lifts so the wait can be quite long a lobby level and on upper floors. Staff are polite but not particularly interested or proactive.
