The hotel staff provided great service. Specifically, Canton the doorman was wonderful - courteous, friendly, helpful, and genuine. He went above and beyond. The location of the hotel was great - both for business and for pleasure.

Was pleasantly surprised how nice the Benjamin one bedroom suite was. The hotel is a nice smaller sized hotel - not like a large chain hotel. It's been remodeled so it has nice finishes such as marble in the bathroom. It's a small bathroom but the bedroom has a large closet. And the bedroom has plenty of room including a full size dresser. (while this may seem standard, believe me, in NYC, you can pay premium prices and get a teeny tiny room where you may only get a closet, but no dresser, etc) There was a very nice sitting room with a couch and coffee table and a small writing desk. the sofa was easily set up as a sofabed for a third guest. there was a small refrigerator and kitchenette that was convenient for storing our extra beverages. (On the counter theres a bottle of Fiji water for $8, but there's a Duane Reade nearby that sells it for about $3.) The room is very clean and comfortable. The only complaint is that the inner shower curtain started to smell a little mildewy, but the housekeeper didn't change it. If i'd been there another night I would have asked for them to take care of it and I'm sure they would have. Great location, close to Rock center, Times Square and lots of good restaurants in walking distance. The National restaurant is next to the lobby. Very good for breakfast, but the service is just ok... We asked our server to box up our leftovers and he combined a couple items. when we asked to have a separate box, he looked irritated. When breakfast for 2 is about $60, I don't need attitude from the server, especially when I didn't ask for anything else throughout the entire meal... Surprisingly crowded, even at breakfast, so you might need to make reservations. The front desk was very nice and helpful - made all kinds of adjustments to our reservation dates due to delays in travel. Will definitely come back again!!

Awesome location. Beautiful room. Helpful, friendly staff. Room was welcoming, comfortable bed, pillow menu. Pleasantly surprised by little kitchenette. Quiet inside. From 6th floor room could not hear street noise. We would stay here again.

The place is okay but I had to pay $30 a day extra for things I did not want on top of what I had already paid up front. This seems a bit sneaky to me as I am used to paying everything when I book. I will not be returning. The rooms do not have any net curtains, so people in the office block opposite can see you all the time. You need to lower the blinds if you want to get undressed and not put on a very public show. This was a real nuisance.

Midtown location means easy access to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Broadway, etc., plus subway stations within a few blocks. Also, great restaurants nearby (concierge staff had numerous recommendations). The front desk staff was especially helpful with a booking issue caused by an airline delay. Plus, they were kind and warm (none of the condescending attitude we've encountered at other high end hotels). Kudos to Mavel and Christine!
