Chambers Hotel in New York City, New York

Even though you’re blocks from the Museum of Modern Art and scores of top-notch restaurants, Chambers Hotel makes a convincing argument for staying in. There are more than 500 works of art scattered throughout the public spaces and the guestrooms by luminaries including Bob and Roberta Smith, Sheila Pepe and John Newsom. The rooms themselves are modern and loft-like, reminiscent of a real New York apartment, only with affable service (nightly turndown with chocolates and bottled water, anyone?) Downstairs, Má Pêche, a member of culinary innovator David Chang’s collection of hotspots, serves memorable French-Vietnamese fare.

If you’ve booked a deluxe room, you’ll wake up to skyline views of Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Take your morning stretches to a new level with an in-room yoga instructor or take advantage of your guest access and visit the New York Health & Racquet Club. Amble downstairs for coffee and a confection from Milk Bar, which is no ordinary affair – maybe you’ll be tempted by the cult favorite Crack Pie or some cereal milk ice cream. Hit the three B’s – Bloomingdale’s, Barney’s and Bergdorf’s. Return for a dinner of small plates, where trout roe is accompanied by rice, crosnes and jalepeño.

Set in a great location for shops and sights, 5th and Madison and a 10 min walk from Central Park you couldn't be better off and with reasonable room rates it doesn't break the bank. The reception and friendliness of all the staff is very welcoming and it has the feel of staying with friends rather than in a hotel. After a busy days work/sightseeing it is very pleasant to be greeted back "home." If you are just looking for a clean, accommodating base (there aren't very many amenities on sight) with nice rooms at very reasonable prices for the part of New York you could do a lot worse. Thanks for a great stay.

Chambers is a jewel close to Central Park, 5th Avenue, museums and subways. Rooms are roomy for NYC, well appointed in a modern style, great amenities (robust mini bar, comfy bed & lux linens, full throttled rain shower) and at exceptional prices. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Definitely my go-to for Manhattan.

We stayed there for an entire week during Marathon week. We lived in NYC and had our preferred hotels and areas to stay. However, as the finish line is in Central Park, we wanted to stay close to it. What can we say: we found a new fav place to be. It‘s small, has a good vibe, nice and ftiendly staff, offers complementary Nespresso coffee. The rooms are small but not too small, are very clean, the beds are super comfy and the products are high quality. A special tha ks goes to the great bell boy/doorman, who always was waiting for me with water after my morning run and did whatever can be done to feel us home. We def will come back again!!

I usually don't stay in mid-town because the hotels are either outrageously expensive or outrageously bland. The Chambers was super quiet and offered lovely amenities, good bedside lighting for reading, and the best makeup mirror. (Why is it that so many hotels don't have makeup mirrors or hang them at an average man's height?)

Chambers is a well managed boutique hotel, Rooms are clean and comfortable with a fresh, modern feel. The hotel staff takes pride in their responsibilities and maintains a genuine, welcoming attention to guest needs. Location cannot be beat. Special mention to Jose at the front door and Rudina behind the front desk!
