Reviews for The Chatwal, A Luxury Collection Hotel, New York
Amazing hotel near Times Square and walking distance of everything. The rooms are very comfortable, very clean, and luxurious. The decor of the whole hotel is fabulous. The staff is what really made our stay the very best. Mr. Manpreet Singh greeted us when we checked in and then by our names every time we met thereafter. When he learned it was my birthday, a small treat and a birthday card awaited me on my return to the room. If you are going to NYC for a weekend getaway or for a business trip, you won't regret staying at The Chatwal!

My wife and I stayed for 4 days over Christmas. We mainly chose this hotel for being part of the SPG group and for the understated luxury. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised by the location being so close to Times Square and the Theatre District. It's not far from the subway either. Check-in and lobby services were excellent with the front desk staff being very friendly and recognizing our SPG Platinum status. The doormen and bell staff were also very proactive though we did not require help with our bags. In that respect, our immediate first impression was a good one, espcially in the art-deco lobby, which while small, is very tasteful. On top of it all, near the elevators, there was always hot coffee, tea and and hot apple cider after coming in from the cold. A very nice touch. The room itself was not overly large but was comfortable with hues of black and red. Thankfully in the room, there are many plugs, outlets and other, enough to charge all your devices, phones, portable wear... I was very pleased with how well our room was soundproofed as I barely heard any noise despite being on the street side. The bathroom was a highlight being large for the size of the overall room and with japanese bidet. The large mirrors and black marble finishing give it a nice touch. We never ran into the maid service once, with them magically sprucing up our room, everytime we were out. The staff was also very helpful in with a missing clothing item that got lost in one of the clean-ups. While this is not a review on the Lamb's Club, the hotel restaurant, we did eat there a few times for dinner, x-mas brunch and breakfasts. I won't go into detail here, but the food was quite good, though the service was a little cold, albeit professional and perfunctory. A small caveat that is not really a fault of the hotel. We found catching a cab or Uber in front of the hotel could be difficult due to it being on a one way street. Cabs/Ubers need to go through the pedestrian traffic of nearby Times Square before reaching the hotel, so plan accordingly. Overall I was really impressed with the Chatwal. The location is excellent being close to the popular tourist areas by foot. The hotel service was top-notch. It's definitely a more upscale hotel, so the price matches but it was well worth it.

This is a small boutique hotel, so don't expect to be greeted at the door by a team of people ready to help you like at the Plaza. Given that, it's pretty darn great. We stayed in the Zen Suite, which was just incredible. Service at the front desk was exceptional and our room was one of the best I have ever stayed in. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The Chatwal is a boutique hotel, but stretching the category to a larger property. It has great qualities, including a very attentive and helpful staff. It has drawbacks, including a small and uncongenial lobby. We've stayed here twice before. Large rooms and the service quality have brought us back. Breakfast is also good. You will find below that I've said the hotel is good with families. Actually in the usual sense, i'm not sure. They were very nice to our daughter, but she's 35. They were also impressively nice to our little dog. They brought him biscuits and asked if we had enough food. He thought the Chatwall was great.

I really loved it here. So close to Times Square we were right in with all the action. Walking distance to many things including Top of the Rock and Empire State. In the midst of the busy city it was nice to be able to escape it all in the hotel. Really nice decor, friendly staff, beautiful room!! Will stay again
