Overall, the experience was manageable, but one of the biggest flaws I’ve ever encountered during my stays at highly rated hotels was the restaurant service. Every time I had breakfast or dinner there, it felt like the staff were uncoordinated and at times incompetent. While the food itself was excellent, the service lacked attentiveness and professionalism—especially when it came to drinks. For example, I ordered a mocktail and a glass of champagne, but ended up waiting nearly 10 minutes for them to arrive. When they did, they were served in a rush, causing the mocktail to spill slightly. Later, I ordered a second glass of champagne which also took a long time. When we eventually decided to cancel it and leave, a staff member simply told us it was “on its way”—yet there was no indication it was actually being prepared. I understand this may sound like nitpicking, but I’ve never felt this let down by a hotel—especially one with such a high rating. Aside from these disappointing restaurant experiences, the rest of the hotel’s services were quite good.

My family of 4 and our friends (family of 3) go to NYC every spring break and we stayed at the Conrad for the first time last spring. This review is long overdue but I had to write one today because we are planning to go back to NYC this summer and we decided to stay at the Conrad again. The service was amazing and the hotel and rooms were impeccable. We've stayed in different Hilton hotels in NYC but the Conrad exceeded all of our expectations. The rooms were large, the service was amazing, the rooms were clean and smelled great. Shout out to the housekeeping staff who were all super nice and accommodating when we needed a few extra things. The location is great near downtown too. We walked to the Brooklyn Bridge. There are many restaurants - fast and sit downs - close by. We ate at Zutto, a nearby Japanese restaurant, which was really great.

The moment that you walk into this hotel, you know that this hotel is different. Across all of our Hilton stays over more than 10 years, this was amongst the most luxurious. The staff are highly attentive, the rooms are immaculate, and the amenities within the rooms were well above any other. As an example, the pull-out sofabed had a very comfortable tri-fold 8" thick memory foam mattress; I slept better on this sofabed than most other hotel beds. We opted for a suite (to sleep 4 adults); we easily fit everyone with plenty of space for each person). The hotel location provides a very quiet overnight sleep. Everything that you could want or need is within 4 blocks (subway, restaurants, mall, historic landmarks, walking paths, farmers market, etc. Highly recommend if you have the means to afford a room, as luxury of this caliber comes with a price tag. That being said, the cost for a single suite (sleeps 4 people) was cheaper than getting 2 separate rooms (with 2 double bed in each) at any of hotels in this area of New York City.

Having stayed at the Conrad New York Downtown on multiple occasions, I’ve found it to be a consistent and comfortable option for business trips. Rooms and Comfort The all-suite rooms are spacious by New York standards, with a separate living area that’s ideal for working or relaxing. Beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are well-appointed. The showers in particular offer excellent water pressure—something I’ve come to appreciate after a long day of meetings. The standout here is the housekeeping staff—always warm, thorough, and consistently excellent. Fitness Center The fitness center is very small, limited to just a few treadmills and stationary bikes, including a Peloton. It covers the basics but isn’t suitable for a more comprehensive workout. For a hotel at this level, the gym is underwhelming. Lobby and Elevators The lobby is modern and expansive but lacks warmth or character. The elevator experience also leaves something to be desired—wait times during peak hours can be frustrating and feel inefficient for a business-oriented property. Dining I did not dine at the hotel’s restaurant and would recommend venturing out instead. Even within a short walking distance, you can find a far better dining experience. Given the hotel’s location in Lower Manhattan, there are excellent options nearby for every cuisine and budget. Beach and Family Amenities There is no pool and the hotel does not offer many family-friendly features. It’s clearly designed with business travelers in mind, not vacationing families. Location Located in Battery Park City, the hotel provides a quieter and more polished environment compared to Midtown. It’s ideal for those with business in the Financial District, Tribeca, or Lower Manhattan. However, it is a bit removed from typical tourist attractions. Final Thoughts The Conrad New York Downtown is a solid business hotel—comfortable rooms, exceptional housekeeping, and a quiet location. While not ideal for families or leisure tourists, it’s a reliable choice for work travel. Just plan to eat elsewhere and don’t expect extensive on-site amenities.
