So how do you choose a hotel in Manhattan? I think it depends on what you would like to do in terms of walking. This hotel is placed sort of right in the middle within equidistance of many places. It is also modern, has a beautiful top terrace and ... a rooftop swimming pool. The pool is small but the kids had a blast after so many hours of walking. Rooms are large by nyc standards. Definitely a solid choice in nyc!

This hotel is amazing. The locariam is great, the staff is friendly and kind, always ready to help. The room is Huge and very comfortable. There is a nice polo with a view to The Empire State Building. I strongly recommend it!

We just got back from a weekend at this hotel and I would highly recommend it. The rooftop bar/pool is lovely and the views of the Empire State Building are amazing. The bar gets really busy and lively at night and seems very popular. The rooms were perfect, great size, really clean and massive beds. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Empire State Building, 25 minute walk from Times Square and about 1 hour walk from Central Park. But if you are going to New York for tourist attractions then I'd highly recommend the New York pass anyways so distance isn't an issue. The hotel itself is lovely and quirky and the staff were great, We would definitely go back.

I am satisfied with my room. The room is rather spacious based on New York City standard. The bed is comfortable and bathroom is good sized. I do not have any complaints. The location is OK. Not very close to many attractions clustered around Mid-town or downtown, so we used a lot of Lyft. People are very friendly. The rate of this hotel is cheaper than other similar boutique hotels, so I am happy about it as well. But one of the elevators did make loud noises and shakes when door closes.

The Gansevoort has large rooms at a reasonable price which is hard to find in Manhattan. This hotel is very luxurious and has a great rooftop bar and beautiful lobby area. My room had a balcony that looked down on Park Avenue. Impressed by this hotel.
