I arrived 1AM and checked in with no problem. The room was clean, quite large and quiet. On 14th floor. I had breakfast the next morning in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. One remark is the restaurant does not serve breakfast before 0700 and when you arrive from Europe, you wake up quite early so it can be a bit long time to wait. The breakfast was good, but quite expensive. The location is quite perfect on Manhattan.

This review is on the front desk staff of the hotel. I had booked a room at this hotel for Saturday 4/22 as it was my boyfriends birthday and I had that night and the next morning planned out in the city, I'm coming from Long Island. The decor, room, cleanliness, and overall assistance was perfect. However, the pompous, arrogant, discriminatory attitude of Marcy at the front desk with the green shirt, left a distaste that even my calm and collected partner felt compelled to comment. She was short in response, uninformative, rude, and by the look on her face, was shocked that WE were staying there. Yes, believe it or not we have great careers and can afford to be there, and at about $400 for the night that's not how we'd expect the initiation process to occur. We brushed it off with every intent for it not to ruin the night. Upon our return to the hotel, from The Flatiron Room (which may I add is fabulous), we inquired if the rooftop served brunch for the next morning. Marci didn't even look up to acknowledge us before her stern "NO" deliverance, her hair flipping received more acknowledgement. At that point we absolutely had enough, and to the rescue came Joel ( I believe his name is) advising us that concierge would be able to assist us. Ari (which I hope is name is) was very informative in all aspects in possible options. The next morning the front desk staff were phenomenal as well, the check out process went smooth and they even assisted with the bell man holding our luggage until after we ate. I want to emphasize on all the wonderful staff we encountered during our stay and because of them we would suggest this hotel to others. But I believe reprimanding, and a possible recommendation to a customer service course, or even a service to excellence seminar would highly benefit Marci, as I do work for a hospital and we are in the same field of servicing others. Thank you!

From check in to check out, the Gansevoort Park Ave hotel is top notch. My man Marcus was very friendly and accommodating during my stay at the hotel. For NYC, the rooms are huge! plenty of space to stretch out. Bathrooms are fantastic and if you're like me, you like having nice shampoo. L'Occitane will definitely do... Rooftop bar was fun. Casual atmosphere with friendly and chatty bartenders. Indoor/outdoor pool seemed like a great perk, though I was not able to take advantage. All in all a great hotel in a fantastic part of the city. Highly recommend!

I've stayed here a few times. The location is great if you want to be centrally located. This stay was with my husband to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We told the front desk when we checked in but they offered no congratulations or any accommodations for our celebratory event. We thought possibly an upgrade or some sort of acknowledgement but got neither. We asked the lady who checked us in to send up a bucket of ice and 2 champagne glasses but they never arrived. This hotel is nice if you'd like a good location and access to the club, which is fun. But the rooms are just ok and the service not that great. The room had no full length mirror and the room very dimly lit. The highlight I think truly is the rooftop pool which we enjoyed on a nice sunny day. If staying here during a warm month, I would recommend for use of the pool. For the price, I would expect more from the service standpoint. If you're looking for memorable for a special night, this isn't the place. If you want trendy, access to a pool and club, it's great. I guess that's NYC for you.

Great hotel, great location, hotel has a warm and friendly feel to it. The weather was great do we used the roof top pool every afternoon with a view to the Empire State Building so it's in walking distance to this building. We walk to Time square and tube was also located very close to every where else. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Only down side drinks were expensive from the bar, not helped by the exchange rate.
