I recently stayed at the Royalton Park Avenue for New Years Eve and it was a perferct end to 2017 and a great beginning to 2018. My friend from Australia wanted to celebrate at a party in Times Square and he chose this hotel. I could not have been happier. The service and staff were wonderful. I will definitely be back.

We booked our visit when it was the Gansevoort so I was slightly worried prior to our arrival about the change in ownership. I didn’t need to worry, we had an outstanding stay. From our arrival and help from the doorman/valet to the warm welcome from Dan at the front desk we knew we were in for a great stay. Our Park Avenue Suite was clean and beautiful-with a luxurious bathroom. The bed in the master was very comfortable although I would state that the sleeper best for kids not adults. We enjoyed a cocktail up at the rooftop bar (cozy inside!) after we quickly admired the view of the Empire State Building from the pool area (it was freezing!). The lobby was inviting and never felt crowded and we never waited for an elevator (unlike many hotels in the city). The location can’t be beat- and it is now my top choice for our next stay in the city.

I didn’t stay at the hotel but did NYE and it was nothing like the Royalton at Times Square. It lacked organisation and was crammed in with so many people that the bar was hard to get to and not enough people serving. Had a meal here in the Italian a few nights before and that was ok but again better places to go including the “other” Royalton. Expensive food but expected from a hotel.

Ok so when I booked this hotel it was the Gaanesvort and I guess these are new owners which happened a couple of weeks ago. I had booked the Royalton Suite and a deluxe room. My suite was nicely appointed...two full bathrooms, tons of closet space, a juliet balcony and a foosball table. On their website my category of room was suppose to have a dining table and 4 chairs. It was replaced by the foosball table!! I was pretty upset and called the desk and wanted the foosball table (didnt have a foosball) replaced with what was to be there. I never recieved a call back after speaking with the front desk and I had the foosball table all week. I wanted the table for room service in the morning. Which as far as the room service, they just drop off the tray and don't set it up for you. Strange. The housekeeping was great and the hotel was very clean. Another annoying thing was there was no bellman calling cabs for you. Also they have a night club upstairs and on Friday night the music went until 4 am. We were on the 17th floor so we heard it pretty good. Employees were nice, but I probably wouldn't stay there again. I always book suites and I hate it when a website shows one thing and you get another.

I’ve just got back from a 5 night stay at this hotel. It was amazing. It’s in the perfect location for everything. The service was outstanding. Especially Daniel and Kristina who went above and beyond to make our stay so great. The food in both restaurants was really lovely and cocktails in the bar were also amazing. One thing I would say is the beds are super soft which if you like that sort of thing is fine but I found them a little too soft. The pool was warm but I don’t think people go in it often at this time of year which is understandable as it’s -9 in December and it’s half inside half outside but you have an amazing view of the Empire State from up there. I would 100% come back to this hotel for the service and location alone.
