Stayed here for a long time in May. Horrific. Every type of complaint that I made has already been made by someone else on this site. To begin, The Toilet. It was faulty and couldn't even handle a test flush without any prior use. Frequently had to leave hotel to search for public toilets. On one occasion after peeing in the toilet and depositing a few sheets of paper in it, the toilet brought back up other people's feces and belched them over the floor and my property. On another occasion I sat on the bed while listening to someone pumping out bile and sloshing it into a garbage bag they'd brought up. Second, The Freezing Showers. The shower system seemed faulty. Warm water was available on the first day and then never again, despite using the exact same settings. Third, The Dirty State. After a housekeeping session, it was normal for rubbish to be left uncollected, for replenishment of room items (like toilet paper) to be forgotten (despite repeated reminders) and for parts of the room to be ignored (like the shower, which was never cleaned despite how long we stayed). And finally, the crescendo that was The Unimaginably Rude Staff. I politely reported all issues from the second day that we were there but nobody followed up to see if our experience was improving. I think this description of our check-out process does a good job of summarising how poorly we were treated: HOTEL: Did you enjoy your stay? / US: No. It was disappointing, if we were being honest, just as we have reported to you throughout our whole stay. / HOTEL: (Squares eyes) What? / US: It was disappointing, if we were being honest. / HOTEL: (Rolls eyes) Well it was all paid in advance so that's done now.

About to have our last night in this lovely hotel. Great room with a balcony for some fresh air. Fantastic service from the guys on reception and the door service. The other half and I would definitely book this hotel again. We really have no complaints.

stayed here with a friend just for two nights. it was a bit last minute so we didn't really do much research but we ended up choosing the hotel by chance. it is a nice hotel with comfy beds and the location is really good. Our view was terrible, but we were out all the time so it doesn't matter that much. It wasn't super cheap but then it is NYC! And maybe youd get a better deal booking more in advance.

Was here for three nights. Never once had hot water in the bathroom. Complained twice but nothing done. There was a welcome note in my room for a previous guest which was there for the duration of my stay but I never got one. Says it all!

We stayed here for a week, our first time to New York. We paid for a room with a balcony about £1600. I emailed before arriving asking if we could have a nice view, the hotel did reply basically saying ‘no chance’. On arrival, we were greeted ok, we didn’t get told anything useful about the hotel. Our room was a good size, lovely bathroom, very clean. The bed was lovely as beds are in America hotels. As for the view, well a brick wall in my book isn’t a view. We were on the 4th floor, we had no natural light, could only see the sky if we leant right over the balcony and looked up, see photo’s. We had to have the lights on all the time. Do not pay extra for a balcony unless you can afford one of the top floors. As for the house keeping, check your alarm clock each day, ‘very strangely’ all the alarms on our floor went off at 8.30am every morning until we pulled the plug. We kept having to ask for the condiments to be replenished each day and annoyingly the housekeeper would knock on the door within 5minutes every time we returned to the room to see if we needed anything, instead of just doing it when she cleaned the room. There is no bar, well we weren’t told about one, no sitting area except in the small lobby. The guys on the door were more helpful & polite than the reception staff. The hotel is in a great location walking distance to all the main attractions. If you only going for a couple of days than I would recommend it, but any longer I wouldn’t.
