Gotham is ideally located in the heart of Manhattan, Times Square / Chrysler / Empire State Building are only a short walk away. The hotel is relatively small for New York, with a steak house / bar at the back. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Only complaints were the WiFi which only really worked in the reception area and not in the bedroom. The aircon was also noisy but as we didn't use it much that wasn't really an issue. The rooms were fine, clean and pretty basic but sufficient for our needs.

When i first walked into the hotel i noticed it was much smaller than i expected. Andrew who helped me at the front desk was very friendly and got me my room quickly. We had the skyline room which came with a balcony, and the view of midtown was just amazing. The amenities were also great. The room came with a stocked mini fridge and was full of snacks from Dean&Deluca!

Make sure that when you make your reservation that you check every day to make sure you have a room. I made reservations in February for trip in September 2 days before we were supposed leave I get an email saying my reservation has been canceled I am not glued to my laptop I don't look at my emails everyday so I didn't see it until it was to late they could have call me at home. This was very unprofessional. I will not recommend this place to anyone at all stay away from here.

I would say that the room was not spacious but it is okay. There was a balcony so if you are a smoker you could use that. Some of the requests were given so long. I requested for a shaving kit and when a I followed up the guy said the one who has it was stuck in the elevator. >.< We stayed there just for a night and moved to different hotel as we still waiting for hurricane Irma to leave Miami.

The Gotham Hotel is a great small hotel that does almost everything right: the location is perfect if you want to be in midtown Manhattan; the rooms are clean and modern; the beds are comfortable; the employees are very friendly. We paid for a room with a terrace, which was pleasant -- although the balconies are small and the building's position means no attractive views, even from the higher floors. The furnishings are attractive, albeit a little bit spartan. We did experience a fair number of small service errors - e.g., items forgotten in the room (e.g., no chairs on the balcony -- just a tiny table!), all of which were speedily addressed with a phone call downstairs. Concierge services are minimal, although the staff do their best to help you. Finally, while they have a smart partnership with a nearby gym, the gym is closed on weekends and holidays! They should consider a better alternative. Overall: We enjoyed the visit and will almost certainly return.
