Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue in New York City, New York
Anyone who frequents New York knows this frustrating oxymoron: The Big Apple is infamous for its absurdly small hotel rooms. That’s why Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue is such a breath of fresh air. Dressed in light beiges with Italian walnut and rosewood accents, Pratesi linens, an in-room Nespresso machine and skyline views, the rooms at Langham Place are some of the biggest in Manhattan.
After a cup of coffee and a New York bagel, head west to the High Line, an elevated park built on an abandoned train track that runs from 34th Street to the West Village. Peer into über-modern high rises, spy works of art, and descend to the bustling street level whenever you’d like to explore. Stock up on edible delicacies at Chelsea Market and keep walking south to the quiet, leafy streets of the West Village. Take in some iconic sites back uptown if that’s on your agenda before dining on butter-poached Nova Scotia lobster at Michelin-starred Al Fiori back at the hotel.

Reviews for Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue
Everyone knows my love of the Langham Chicago, so I had high expectations for the Langham in New York. While the Chicago location still wins in a head to head battle, this is a fabulous hotel for New York standards. Larger than normal rooms, very quiet, outstanding beds, linens, towels, and toiletries, beautiful spa and gym, and a friendly staff. The restaurant on site is a must do. Great bar and drinks. The location for this hotel is perfect. You are in mid-town Manhattan and close to everything you want to see as a tourist. I held a meeting onsite, and the room, AV, and food and beverage was spot on. Would definitely do a meeting here again.

I would rank this hotel clearly in the middle of the pack, having stayed at a ton of the luxury hotels in New York. The service isn't personal, there's no welcome amenity (we booked two suites), and the artwork is beyond cheap in the hotel room, so it's not the standard of what you'll see at other luxury hotels. However, the service was nice and the overall space was of a decent size in the rooms. I did get the sense of slight cost cutting in the near single ply toilet paper and I don't think the minibar is free anymore. I never saw a manager while there greeting guests, and a hands-on customer focused GM is a sign of a great hotel. I don't think I'd return. Some slight billing issues, one of which was fixed promptly and the other that I'm having to follow up with was probably just an accident.
The staff at the Langham were professional, helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious with amazing views. The food was absolutely delicious. The Langham has exceeded all of my expectations. Worth the trip!!

Would be wonderful place to stay for a romantic getaway, but it was pretty mediocre and certainly not good value for the money as a business traveller. Bed was so-so. Room service meal was terrible. Desk is tiny... and workspace is shared with a huge plasma screen. No luggage rack, so I guess they expect you to unpack instead of using roll-aboard suitcase for clothes storage. On the plus side, in-room Nespresso and complimentary shoe shines were nice. Bathroom is HUGE and rain shower / tub is very nice. [More of a feature for a relaxing vacation where one is looking to be pampered than a business trip.] Lobby experience was fine, but this is the kind of place where the bellman really really wants (and almost expects) to take your bag for you up to your room. Again, not really what you want as a business traveler.
