At soon as you step off your car, bellman will address you by name. Your car will quickly be taken away while your bags are transferred to the front desk. Check-in with no hassle or drama. Cordial and relaxed staff attitude's will immediately make feel at home. The lovely key with tassel opens a non pretentious door to a heavenly apt like room. If you are lucky to stay at one of the suites, do so. The rooms and suites are well appointed with classic chic touches. Our Saturday night stay, was a rainy and very windy evening. We relaxed and enjoy a complementary glass of champagne while watching tv. It was my husband birthday and few minutes after we settled in, a bottled of champagne with macaroons arrived. Along with it a bottle of Evian water. Perfect! Around 730Pm we went down to the bar, to enjoy a cocktail before dinner at Majorelle. The bar Jacques, Moroccan style is the perfect setting for an intimate drink. Superb. Dinner at Majorelle was fantastic. Can't say enough about the service, the informed and most attentive staff. I had the oysters, lamb tagine and the chocolate soufle and my hubby the mushroom risotto, veal and pistachio soufle. All fantastic. We came back to our room, and called the butler to light the fire. Our suite had a wonderful fireplace (real). Although the logs and the service are extra, for $32 it really's worth it! Specially since outside was so nasty. Our window showed a whirlwind of tree leaves flying about. Inside, we were warm and cozy in front of the fire. The entire property has a grandiose amount of fresh flowers. This time of year, the theme was pumpkin orange so the flowers were all that color. Just magnificent. Next day, we had a delicious breakfast. Felt like true royalty for a week-end! Merci!

I met a client in the lobby bar and experienced first class service. There is lounge type area with sofas and formal chairs, I felt like I was in someone’s living room in an apartment on Park Avenue. The waitstaff was very attentive and professional, I had a glass of Sancerre which was delicious.

The Lowell is unique experience in New York City. The staff is beautifully trained and all of the services are wonderful. The location doesn’t get better for somebody wanted to stay on the upper east side.

This is a review of the Lowell hotel itself; not the restaurants or the bar area (though I do think all of those were quite nice). My husband and I stayed three nights in late October. The staff is wonderful; the doorman, front desk, bell staff, concierge and housekeepers were extraordinarily nice and quite helpful. Every time we left and returned I felt we were coming home. Our suite was beautiful and well appointed, with an extremely comfortable bed, large bathroom with soaking tub, expansive shower, vanity area and television. The living room was large and comfortable and the kitchen was very nice. Everything was sparkling clean. It was our anniversary, so they brought up very nice 'treats' and flowers for us. The common "sitting area" just beyond the lobby is really quite fabulous - the perfect place to relax, visit with friends, enjoy a cocktail, or just read. The flowers are magnificent. I believe the whole hotel was recently redecorated, and it is absolutely beautiful. I love the location - close to shopping, Central Park and walkable to good restaurants and a number of museums. We will return to this hotel when we visit NYC in the future, and definitely recommend it.
