If you are looking for a quality hotel in a residential neighborhood that is walking distance to everything on the upper east side of Manhattan, the Lowell Hotel is the answer. Experience professional staff greet you at the front door and serve you throughout your stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean and inviting. The boutique hotel is a gem in a great city like New York that lacks many fine hotels of this quality

A beautiful and comfortable boutique-style hotel in a great location. A staff that is beyond friendly and accommodating. They could not be any nicer. The elevators are extremely slow, unfortunately. The staff acknowledges it, and apologizes for it. But that's a very small issue. I would highly recommend.

What a wonderful, relaxing, beautiful hotel. All the staff are courteous, polite and helpful. The doormen always had a smile and were two steps ahead of us. Breakfast was tasty. The room was spacious, clean and inviting. The bathroom feels like a Roman bath. This is a splendid hotel. You get what you pay for.

At the heart of the great hotels of the world, is an exceptional bar. And that's what tells you that The Lowell is on the right path here. Their bar is one of the best. Spacious, immaculate service, expert bar tender, quiet, no crass TVs with no sound. Beautifully decorated. The rooms are simple. Not vast. But you're staying a convenient location. The staff are excellent, attentive, friendly... Check-in is fast and awake. Bags somehow get to the room ahead of you, and nobody lurks around in that irritating way telling you how the sofa works. Joking apart, the room has no mysteries. No genius thought re-inventing the light switch would be helpful, or making there TV impossible to operate would be welcome. It all works in its simplicity. OK... so this isn't a money saving exercise, and that's OK - for one reason - that it's excellent.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming The fresh flowers in the lobby were inviting. Room was very nice and comfortable, although it could use an update in the bathroom. Only downside is that the breakfast room did not open until 7am, which can be late.
