We stayed at this hotel for my birthday trip and from the moment we got there the staff was amazing. The bellman Edwin was great with helping with the bags and getting us a taxi on the morning we left even though there was a marathon blocking off roads the staff walked all the way to 6th street to help us get a taxi. The concierge put in a request for complementary champagne and desserts to be sent our first night wish was a great way to start our weekend. Would definitely stay again if we come back to New York for the service and location for the price we paid.

Great great hotel. Stayed for four days for some early week meetings and came a little earlier to enjoy the city. The front desk team is extremely nice. They really treat you like family and you cannot beat that. It made the whole stay feel easy and welcoming. Definitely a place I would come back to next time I am in town.

Stayed here for 5 nights for what was our second visit to New York, the first being way back in 2002. During our stay it was also our wedding anniversary. So in terms of the hotel, I concur with the majority of positive posts that are on this site. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by all staff and we had booked a studio king which was a perfect size for a city break when you spend most of your time away from the hotel. Soon after arriving a bottle of prosecco and some strawberries were delivered courtesy of the hotel which was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. Throughout our stay all interactions with staff were extremely positive they are a credit to themselves and the hotel. We used the lounge for coffee every morning - very nice Lavazza which you can refill and had one very agreeable breakfast. Location is perfect for touring the city with many attractions accessible on foot or by using nearby metro stations. Only slight negatives, The hotel has very much a old world charm which I would not want to see change however some of the fixtures and fittings throughout would benefit from a refresh. Prior to visit I had messaged the hotel twice with a couple of basic questions which I did not get any response to and this was quite at odds with the great service you get whilst there. There are thousands of hotels to choose in NYC and are researching and choosing the Michelangelo I can say that I have no regret whatsoever.

The location in Midtown is perfect, the rooms are surprisingly spacious for New York, and the whole place has this classic, comfortable feel. What stood out the most was the staff everyone was genuinely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay (6 nights), location was perfect. Very large, good priced rooms and extremely comfortable. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Very clean rooms. Noise given it was New York was actually ok. The Bar was a great place to chill out with meals available to order and breakfast was good too.

Thank you for a truly beautiful 16-hour stay. The Michelangelo staff was exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
The food was excellent as well. I had friends join me for dinner, which was delightful, and I managed to enjoy a quick breakfast before my early departure.
I was especially delighted by the unexpected upgrade—what a wonderful surprise! My only regret was that my visit was too short. To fix that, I’ll be returning very soon, and I’m already looking forward to another memorable experience.
