Having been here several times, this is our " go to " hotel when we want to stay in the city. Within walking distance of Broadway theatre, Fifth Avenue shopping, and several museums, one can also catch a subway or bus nearby to get around. Excellent restaurants with different price ranges are just a stone throw away. Service is friendly and efficient, and rooms are clean and comfortable, My husband enjoyed using the gym. Cocktails and breakfast are served on the first floor. Although we weren't able to get a special price, they are sometimes available on the website. In comparison to other hotels in this upscale category, we thought the prices were fair. We will be back.

Several years ago, I stayed at the Michelangelo a few time for business. Unfortunately, my husband had not been able to accompany me on those trips. This year, I thought I would plan a weekend for his birthday. Amazing. The hotel had not changed. It is beautiful and elegant. Check off all of the boxes for a first memorable stay: wonderful linens, extremely comfortable beds, a relaxed but refined bar, impeccably clean and spacious rooms; but, most importantly, the Michelangelo has extraordinary service. From the doormen, to the front desk, the concierge and managers, everyone is helpful and just extremely nice. They all make you feel special and looked after from the minute you arrive. After a full day of exhausting activity, it is great to be able to go “home” to the Michelangelo. The location is great, by the way, for those who may not be familiar with it. We visited everything from the Brooklyn Museum, Greenwich Village, the 9/11 memorial, the High Line, the Museum of Art and Design, Central Park, caught a great play on Broadway, listened to some music, ate at some great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars, plus I still managed to do a little shopping. This was all within walking distance, an easy to manage subway ride (from nearby stations), or an easy to obtain cab ride. Do not hesitate to book this hotel. It is truly exceptional. Thanks to the Michelangelo for making my husband’s birthday special and we certainly hope to be back soon.

My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend in this luxurious and surprisingly relaxing spot in the eye of the the busy midtown and Broadway bustle. The lobby is nearly shimmering in artful design but simultaneously welcoming and unpretentious, with a very comfortable bar and lounge adjacent. The room was amazingly spacious for NYC, and quiet, with a strong shower and well-appreciated heat lamp in the bathroom. The staff were uniformly attentive, polite, and accommodating, The desk staff were particularly helpful (even rushing out of their way to help us when we needed a quick bandaid), and I'd especially like to thank Angel for his general responsiveness and professionalism.

The room was one of the most spacious rooms we've had in NYC. We were four adults (two teenage sons) and there was plenty of room for all of us. We had a cocktail and a pizza in the afternoon which were quite tasty. If we had any complaint I would say the breakfast was not very good, cold and the toast wasn't really toasted but since it came with the room price we didn't say anything. Very friendly staff and great location. We will definitely stay there again.
