Great location with outstanding service
What a great option for staying in NYC. Excellent location - we were just a short walk away from all the major theaters and many sights. We felt safe walking to and from the hotel at all hours of the day. The hotel itself was quite a treat. While it may seem older at first glance, note that the rooms are large, and the beds and baths very comfortable. Rooms were remarkably quiet. Staff was top notch and super helpful. We felt pampered. We will definitely return the next time we are in NYC.

Old School Charm
Stayed here for a 5 day trip and could not have asked for better. From arrival staff were excellent. The doorman took our bags and made sure they were sent to our room. Reception staff very pleasant and courteous. Compared to other modern NYC hotels the bedroom was very spacious with plenty of room to make ourselves feel at home. Only downside was not having any kind of view from our room. We had breakfast on the last morning and it was excellent. Pancakes were probably the best we have ever tasted. The waiting staff were brilliant and very attentive. Location was great for us as only a few streets South of Central Park. Situated on 7th Ave you are only a 10-15min into Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Grand Central Station. Others have said this hotel is old and outdated we would say old school classic with charm. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend for anyone considering a short stay in NYC

Great base for NYC
4 star hotel with 5 star hospitality! Could not fault the staff, extremely helpful and friendly. Check in and check out seamless. Rooms are very spacious for NYC and clean, bathrooms could maybe benefit from updating and a bit more attention to cleanliness, just in corners and a few surfaces. Breakfast was delicious and again staff were excellent. Would recommend for couples, we stayed 4 nights.

A perfect home in the city
This hotel is a gem. The location is terrific and it is so comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond. The doormen, Edwin and Teodoro, were great. Always happy to see us and making us feel welcome. This hotel is close to the theater district and all the subway lines. We’ve stayed many places in New York and this is by far our favorite.

Wonderful family hotel. Clean and central to everything and well started. Lobby and the hallways felt very safe at night.

Thank you for a truly beautiful 16-hour stay. The Michelangelo staff was exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
The food was excellent as well. I had friends join me for dinner, which was delightful, and I managed to enjoy a quick breakfast before my early departure.
I was especially delighted by the unexpected upgrade—what a wonderful surprise! My only regret was that my visit was too short. To fix that, I’ll be returning very soon, and I’m already looking forward to another memorable experience.
