We stayed at the Michelangelo for a few days at the beginning of September. Unfortunately, we are having to rate this as 1/5 for the following reason: An expensive, branded white shirt of mine was (accidentally) removed by the housekeeper when changing the white bedsheets. This part is the understandable mistake. We raised the issue with checkout staff, who assured us their laundry business would be contacted and the shirt returned to us at no additional cost. We left our address for it to be posted. Unfortunately, the following day, the hotel proceeded to withdraw $45 from our bank account to send the shirt. Sorry - on what planet? It was *your* fault the shirt went missing and we have to pay for your mistake? Needless to say emails have gone unanswered but we will pursue this. Avoid this hotel at all costs. As you will see from my profile, we stay at hotels all over the world and if I’m not mistaken, this is only my second 1-star review out of many, many reviews. Disappointed at these devious tactics.

The staff, bellman, Ervin, front desk, Walter, treated us beautifully. We had stayed at the Michelangelo several times before and always had a great experience. This time we came with relatives. I love how welcoming everyone is to our visiting guests. The only downside this time, was maid service seemed to be cut back. No replacement of body lotion and used towels. The location couldn’t be better for theater goers.

Thank you for a truly beautiful 16-hour stay. The Michelangelo staff was exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
The food was excellent as well. I had friends join me for dinner, which was delightful, and I managed to enjoy a quick breakfast before my early departure.
I was especially delighted by the unexpected upgrade—what a wonderful surprise! My only regret was that my visit was too short. To fix that, I’ll be returning very soon, and I’m already looking forward to another memorable experience.
