We recently stayed at the Michelangelo Hotel in New York for a special birthday trip, just the two of us—a mum and daughter getaway—and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. To our delight, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite, which truly set the tone for the stay. The room itself was spacious and elegant, featuring a huge, incredibly comfortable bed, a cosy seating area with sofas, and a bar space complete with a well-stocked minibar. While some of the décor felt slightly dated, it only added to the hotel’s charm and classic New York ambience. One of the most unexpected and lovely touches was the turndown service in the evening, complete with chocolates placed on our pillows—something we’d only ever seen in films! It was these small but thoughtful details that really elevated our stay. We were also surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine and some nibbles, which we assumed was to help celebrate the birthday—such a kind and appreciated gesture. Throughout our visit, the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to help with anything we needed. The location was another major highlight, perfectly situated within easy walking distance of Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, and Broadway theatres—ideal for making the most of everything New York has to offer. All in all, we had a truly wonderful stay at the Michelangelo Hotel. It was the perfect setting for a special celebration, and we left with lovely memories that we’ll cherish for a long time.

We booked the Michelangelo hotel because of it's stellar reviews and it did not disappoint! After 4 nights, we felt like several of the staff were friends of ours! The staff we kind, attentive, friendly, not stuffy or formal, and yet, not too chummy if you know what I mean. This lovely 100 year old hotel (it's only been 33 years as The Michelangelo) is quaint, beautiful - Italian style, and clean! The location is perfect in Mid Manhattan. Very walkable to many of NYC's destinations. We were never bothered by noise from either the hotel or the street below. For the service we received, the value was amazing. The 5 of us girlfriends would all recommend The Michelangelo!

I've never been to the Michelangelo hotel so I based my booking off of reviews and I'm so glad I did. The hotel staff were absolutely Amazing. The service was EXCELLENT. The hotel and room decor is a retro glam old world European style. Big shout out to Ms Shirley who oversees housekeeping on the floor I stayed. She was extremely attentive and very accommodating. The hotel has a small restaurant that serves good drinks an food. The hotel location is in walking distance to so many attractions. I stayed there alone and always felt very safe. I will definitely be back!

Thank you for a truly beautiful 16-hour stay. The Michelangelo staff was exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
The food was excellent as well. I had friends join me for dinner, which was delightful, and I managed to enjoy a quick breakfast before my early departure.
I was especially delighted by the unexpected upgrade—what a wonderful surprise! My only regret was that my visit was too short. To fix that, I’ll be returning very soon, and I’m already looking forward to another memorable experience.
