This is not a five star hotel by any means. First of all they do not answer their phones no matter how many times you call or who you call. Second the service is terrible. My wife who has multiple scleroses and was struggling to open the doors was not helped at all by two doormen standing watching her trying to get into the hotel lobby. They could not find our reservations and could not remember our names. The rooms were very nice and very clean but the terrible service and frustration over trying to reach the front desk or housekeeping was not worth it. They were supposed to email our receipt at checkout and failed to do so, I tried calling to ask them to send again and again they did not answer their damn phones. This hotel is just not worth it.

This is a hard place to review. The price is not low. But there are nevertheless little things about the room that are not just right--need a little TLC. On the other hand, the reception desk took extraordinary care in selecting a room for us. They ended up giving us an upgrade to a jr suite that was both quiet and had lots of light by being on a courtyard off the street. Breakfast was expensive (not being on an expense account) but a few blocks walk to 9th Ave takes you to Amy's Bread--totally informal and totally good. They know how to make tea as well as coffee and their Parisian-style breakfast is enough for two. We also took a croissant with ham and cheese for our flight home. It was just the thing. Great location for the restaurants where we wanted to eat.

This was our first visit to this hotel. We try to make it o New York City at least twice a year. we will return to the Michelangelo on our next trip. This size is what we like. Staff were exceptionally nice and competent. My wife and I were very pleased with all aspects of our stay.

This hotel is even more lovely than the photos reflect - lobby and rooms. Perfectly located for theater or business midtown, with nice sized, well appointed rooms, it's a good value. We would definitely return. Food service could be better (breakfast and lobby bar). It wasn't bad, but not up to the standards of the rest of the excellent experience. We would have appreciated having a coffee maker in the room (or being asked if we would like one - they are available on request, but didn't notice it was "missing" until morning). Overall, a very comfortable and beautiful hotel that, with a little more attention to the things mentioned, could easily be a five-star.

The location is great. Close to Times Square, but on quiet street! Room for family of 4, with 2 double beds was large for New York City, included room for suitcases !, large bathroom. Air condition was great. We will return !
