Due to a delayed flight, we (a couple) unfortunately arrived at 9 pm instead of at 6 pm, which may explain why, despite having booked a deluxe room, we were given a very small room on the 3rd floor (it was supposedly a "deluxe," too, but if so, I can't imagine what the standard rooms are like). The "city view" consisted of looking across the street at some buildings. The room was so small that we barely had space for two suitcases; there was only one drawer of medium size, and one small drawer; 5 hangers in the closet. While we usually travel light, that particular trip we had to pack more clothes (attending a gala, business meetings, etc), and the room was not sufficient for our needs. Worst of all, the traffic noises kept us up all night. The hotel staff were very nice and tried hard to get us a better room, but there were no acceptable choices. We checked out the very next day, and moved into a much bigger and totally quiet room in a different hotel, where we remained happily for several nights. What a shame my experience with the Quin was bad, since the reviews were so good and I had many choices of luxury hotels in NYC of equal or lesser price (in fact, I had booked a 550 sq. foot room at The Plaza, and cancelled it in favor of The Quin because the Plaza room was on a "lower floor," and I was afraid of street noise). It just shows how important the room can be to the travel experience, at least to me. Again, no criticism of staff (although we got one bum steer re a restaurant from the concierge): they were all kind and helpful.

We stayed at the Quin for four nights in early November, leading up to Veterans Day weekend. It was our minimoon for our very recent wedding. The Quin was perfect. We had a premier room with a city view. It was spacious with a huge bed and well appointed shower room. No bath though (and not quite enough wardrobe space). There was a well stocked minibar and great (but pricey) room service options. You could control the blinds, lights and climate from a digital dashboard next to the bed or front door. Absolutely amazing. The hotel has an adjoining bar/restaurant called the Wayfarer. It was handy for a pre-dinner cocktail or quick drink on your way in from a late flight. The hotel’s location is prefect at 57th Street and 6th Avenue. Perfect for the park, Broadway, Times Square, the plaza hotel and of course shopping on 5th. Great subway links to Brooklyn, downtown and also Greenwich and Soho. Rue 57 across the street is great for French food and drinks. We loved it and would go back in a flash.

Great and stylish boutique hotel with amazing location, very clean and well equipped rooms and nice people at reception and concierge. While service was very good upon request, the hotel totally missed personal cues (birthday, honeymoon) and did not respond to urgent request (getting luggage ready fast in rush to the airport)

I Loved everything about this hotel and will stay again. I stayed on the 11th floor overlooking Madison Avenue. The staff is wonderful and I look forward to bringing friends and family to the Quin on my next trip to NYC.

Excellent Location and very welcoming staff. I received a nice room upgrade and enjoyed the hotel bar/restaurant. There is a lot to like about this property and I have no real complaints. I will definitely plan a return visit.
