The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel

Overall this hotel was a disappointment. Just because you always call me by my name and offer me a bottle of water does not make a property deluxe. The checkin desk is very tight such that if there are two guests, you will be on top of each other. There were always gentleman at the door but they did not always open it. It does not seem appropriate for the front desk staff to be taking selfies. After we checked in and headed to the elevator with the bellman, a front desk person came quickly at us and loudly asked for my fiancé's name although it was already on the record. We had a grand deluxe room. It was decorated very nicely. The bathroom and closets are well thought out. However the bedroom was quite small. We did try the restaurant - although the food was good, the waitress was substandard and the noise level was very high. Finally we booked thru AE platinum. When we checked in , there was no mention of any of the benefits. I told them that we would be taking advantage of the late check out. I doubt that there was any true attempt at upgrading the room.

Absolutely incredible experience and the definition of Luxury in NYC. This UES staple lived up to every and all expectations. The accommodations were stunning and the decor and attention to detail were extremely elevated. We were celebrating a birthday - and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel very special. I want to give a special acknowledgement to the Sisley Spa and the Spa Director, Christian. He took such incredible care of us and made us feel like family during our short stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, when looking through the plethora of options in NYC - The Surrey will and does stand out for a reason. We can not wait to come back!!

We highly recommend The Surrey. It is situated in a wonderful location, and the facilities are both brand-new and thoughtfully designed. The service across the board is impeccable; every member of the staff has gone above and beyond to ensure our comfort. In particular, I must highlight Julio from the security team, who has been exceptional. He is not only highly professional but also incredibly thoughtful and caring—a true testament to the hotel’s commitment to providing an outstanding, high-end guest experience.

I have been to a number of luxury properties not only in NYC but all over the world. The Surrey is top notch and the epitome of the finest hotels, from the second you walk in the door it’s an incredible experience. It’s elegant, yet comfortable, sexy and the attention to detail is unmatched. I also particularly enjoy having fine dining at your finger tips at Casa Tua and the lounge is the perfect spot on the Upper East Side for drinks. While the aesthetics and ambiance are beautiful to the eye, I must say that it’s not stuffy and the Guest Relations team, in particular Liz Keyser, Renee Carbone and the people that greet you at the front desk like Margaret provide the warmest welcome and for return guests like me remember their guests. The Surrey is my home away from home. I could not give higher praise and admittedly I’m a tough critic. Thanks to the Surrey for making each stay an absolute dream.
