We stayed at The Surrey for 1 night to celebrate our anniversary. Check-in was seamless, and we were upgraded to a larger room. The service overall was great. The doormen, especially Koko, were very friendly and helpful. The room was very well-appointed, and the bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed drinks on the rooftop, and breakfast at Cafe Boulud was very good. Our only issue is that there was not much to do in this area of the city. But this is a beautiful, comfortable hotel with excellent service.

We wanted to be on the Upper East Side to be close to the jazz at the Carlyle and to the Frick Museum. I booked this through Chase Visa Luxury Hotel Collection and was delighted to get a free upgrade, $100 credit, and free continental breakfasts. Service was wonderful; room was perfect with great, quiet air conditioning and free, fast wifi. Cocktails were perfect as was the food in both the bar and the restaurant. Small jazz trio plays on Friday night.

We were at the Surrey for over a week on business. The staff was always attentive, professional, and happy to assist in any way. Felipe and Koko, the doormen l, always had a smile regardless of their workload or hectic day. Susie, the housekeeper, was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She was efficient, thoughtful and understanding of special needs. It's always great to come back home but we enjoyed our time at The Surrey and already miss our new found friends.

Our weekend trip to NYC was made perfect by our stay at The Surrey. Amazing customer service from start to finish with special care to details. Our room was beautiful and the view from the roof top patio was stunning. This will definitely be our go-to hotel when visiting NY.

We were here for a family reunion and perhaps it was unfortunate that I arrived here after staying at the Four Seasons in Boston and the Ritz Carlton in Montreal. Can't imagine how this hotel is rated in the top 3 in NYC - it is mediocre at best. I've not stayed in many hotels in NYC but I'm sure it can do better than this. The hotel is dark and gloomy. The room keys consistently gave problems in the elevator - so you ended up going up and down until the card worked. The suite was spacious but in all other ways - it was just okay. Bathroom and amenities mediocre. Bathrobes worn out. Not once was I mentioned by name, and we had 5 rooms and were there for 4 nights. Most of the time I opened the main front door myself. It rained most days and I was never offered an umbrella and when I would return with my own umbrella and shopping bags, and then had to open the door myself, not good. Breakfast from in-room dining took over an hour to come. Honestly wouldn't stay here again.
