Entire staff was friendly and helpful. Amenities were very nice, clean. Adjacent restaurant and bar was incredible. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Would recommend highly. Excellent location away from the hectic pace of midtown hotels.

We just had one night in New York during a few stops of travel for family and business. Having stayed in the Surrey before a while ago, I knew it would be the perfect place to stay. While opted for one of the smaller rooms, the finishes were excellent, and the service was as well. We had a very restful stay and a delicious room service breakfast. The vibe is very NYC, but also very refined. Even though it is in NYC it feels like a respite with access to all the energy and opportunity. We also enjoyed dinner in Cafe Boulod.

Comfortable and spacious suite on the 14th. floor, with everything you might need. Same as most other hotels. Great to have Nespresso available. A lot of the other rooms don’t have coffee available. Mini bar was well stocked, but expensive. Overall, not overly impressed for the price. Good location, but she is getting a little tired. One and done for the Surrey.

This delightful hotel is well situated for the quieter, calmer Upper East Side. With Central Park and Museum Mile on the doorstep - it was just perfect for us. A pleasure to return to at the end of a busy day's sightseeing. The staff are all polite, friendly and attentive. Our 11th floor room was well furnished and the bed was the most comfortable ever (even better than my own bed, which I love!) There was a mishap when we checked in though. I'd emailed the hotel in advance, requesting a room overlooking 76th street which I knew to be quieter. The hotel acknowledged my email which was reassuring. However, when we checked in, we were given a room overlooking Madison Avenue (noisier). It was hard to get our bearings as we'd arrived late, so took the room. The room had an odour of cigarette smoke which had attempted to be disguised with air freshener. The furnishings were a little shabby and the room itself was smaller than the one we'd booked. The next morning we asked to be changed and this was done with no quibble. The other point was that we had mentioned on booking that we were R & C members but there was no acknowledgement of this during our stay. All this aside, we would definitely return to The Surrey as we enjoyed our stay here very much indeed - hopefully later this year or early next.

My wife and I found our recent stay at The Surrey to be elegant and relaxing. We have stayed there previously and will book again at the end of May on our next trip to NY. The hotel is wonderful, and it is well located for visits to the Frick and the Met, as well as the many fine restaurants and art galleries in the neighborhood.
