My husband and I have traveled to NYC for years and have always stayed in and around the Time Square/Broadway area. Our most recent trip in July took us to this gem as we wanted to spend time at the museums and it was close by. We loved this hotel!! Quiet, luxury, rooftop bar, friendly staff, well appointed including a Duxiana bed!! This will become our favored hotel going forward for sure!!

This hotel is located on the upper east side between Madison Avenue(shopping galore without the crowds) and 5th Avenue (Central Park). It has very much of a neighborhood feel and is away from the typical crowds of midtown and Soho. The service is fantastic and the staff are extremely pleasant. Upon arrival, I was asked if I would like a glass of wine which is served chilled as you are being checked in. The bar is small, hip and has live music on certain nights. The room was large by NYC standards and very beautiful.

Perfect evening on the roof with friends and family. This is a stylish spot, understated and exclusive. Comfortable seating and not crowded. A different perspective on the city skyline, drinks were good.

Truly a special hotel on upper east side. Close to central park and the staff makes you feel like part of the family. The decor of the rooms is very tastefully done. Best concierge staff in the city which is a huge deal for dining out on NYC.

Let's just say I wanted to sit for a few minutes in a beautiful atmosphere and enjoy a drink in a place that felt like New York. It was maybe 9pm and I was tired after walking from downtown to The Met. Alone and enjoying my solitude, I didn't want to feel lonely. The bar at the Surrey was perfect. The Champagne cocktail was delicious and the bartender showed me just the right amount of professional charm.
