We wanted a fine place to enjoy a pleasure trip to the big Apple in December. The surrey fits the bill! Our room, location, their service, and amazing food makes this a great place to stay. Important to us is access to great restaurants and feeling safe while walking at night. Throw in museum row nearby and wonderful concierge service and you have the Surrey. We could choose other places easily, but this is now my only place to stay! Go! 😎‼️

Came to New York for combination business trip and a few personal days. The hotel is very nice the people are extremely accommodating. I can’t years helped us with play tickets and dinner reservations. Staff is always eager to greet you at the door and open the door and help you get a cab. The room is clean all the accommodations are very nice I would definitely recommend it. But not cheap

I have always, always, always stayed at the Plaza Athenee on the UES, but thought I would try somewhere different and modern this trip. We booked a Deluxe Salon Room. We were massively disappointed to find we had a view of a massive metal duct. Hardly a view worth $800 per night. The WiFi is absolutely deplorable. There is no coffee or espresso in the room. Complementary tea and coffee are offered in the lobby but only until 8:30 am! We will be staying at Plaza Athenee from here on out.

We had an excellent stay here and look forward to a return trip. Hotel has great history-nicely updated. Artsy and charming. Location is in a nice neighborhood and it's quieter here than in many other hotels in NYC. Nicely appointed, staff is attentive, restaurant is excellent and the bar is swanky.

I should have read the negative reviews before booking this hotel. Booked a suite and received a strange room with a horrible view. The wifi NEVER worked even with upgrading and the only help from the hotel was to try and use it in the lobby. That also didn’t work and not sure why I’m paying for a suite and have to work from the lobby. Ordered room service for lunch and after a very long wait a burnt and soggy grilled cheese arrived. I guess people are supposed to use the cooktop in the room rather than order room service. You have to ask for the courtesy museum passes and wait until someone can find them. The only positive about staying at this hotel besides location was a comfortable bed and quiet room but could have gotten that at a cheap motel.
