We love the idea of aparthotel in NYC, however it wasn't executed correctly and we ran into a few problems while we were there. Initially we love the idea of having a big space for the family to hang out, however we discovered that there's one 1 bathroom and it's really small for a 2 bedroom suite. It would be better if there were 2 bathrooms or just make it bigger. I love the idea of having a washer and dryer in the unit, but if I have to choose between bigger bathroom vs. washer/dryer, definitely bigger bathroom! We were there during the FIFA World Cup and we're just steps away from Time Square! However on our 3rd night there, the AC unit broke down! And it was hot! We called down and they sent the handyman to check out the AC but he couldn't fix it so they brought up a portable AC unit. It was fine... for about an hour. The handyman didn't fix the exhaust tube to a window therefore the hot air generated from the AC unit was pumped into the room. So our unit was like a sauna during the night and it was just too hot for us to get any sleep. Next morning we called down again and they changed us into a different 2 bedroom unit on 10th floor. We love the natural light that the second unit has and most importantly the AC works! Everything was good until the night before checking out... the fire alarm went off at least 3 times through out the night! After we were told that it was false alarm, we went back to sleep... only to be interrupted again 30 minutes later... and then again about an hour after. It's well after midnight at that point and we barely got a few hours of sleep before getting up to check out. So even though we love the location and the idea of aparthotel, we weren't too impressed with our experience.

We stayed at AKA Times Square with our family from August 3 to August 22, 2026, and overall had a very enjoyable and comfortable experience. AKA is quite different from a traditional chain hotel, offering more of an extended-stay residential experience. In my opinion, it is an especially good choice for families with children and for anyone planning a longer stay in New York City. The location is simply excellent. The hotel is on 44th Street between Times Square and Sixth Avenue — about a one-minute walk to Times Square and Sixth Avenue, only a few minutes from Fifth Avenue, and around 15 minutes on foot from Central Park. There are countless restaurants, shops and attractions within walking distance, and several subway stations are very close by. You can explore the area for days without running out of things to see or do. We stayed in a Two Bedroom Suite with two bedrooms, a living area, kitchen and bathroom. For two adults and two 10-year-old children, the space worked very well and made our almost three-week stay much more comfortable than a conventional hotel room. One service we particularly appreciated was grocery delivery. You can have groceries delivered directly to the hotel, and even if you are not in the room when they arrive, the hotel staff will bring them upstairs. They even placed refrigerated items in our refrigerator for us. This was extremely convenient during a long family stay, and we are very grateful to the staff for this thoughtful service. The apartment has only one bathroom, and it is quite small, but the space is very efficiently designed. The bathroom amenities and toiletries are also very good quality. Our suite was somewhat dark and did not receive much natural sunlight, probably because it did not face the street. The windows also appeared to need a thorough exterior cleaning, which may have contributed to this. Another area that could be improved was the air-conditioning unit in our room, which worked but was noticeably loud, especially at night. The reception staff deserve a special mention. Everyone we interacted with was polite, welcoming and genuinely helpful. They consistently greeted us when we entered or left the hotel and were always ready to assist whenever we needed something. There is also a beautiful two-level lounge and terrace on the upper floors. It is stylish, comfortable and very thoughtfully designed. In the mornings, complimentary coffee and tea are available together with light items such as croissants and muffins, which was a very nice touch. One important point for future guests to be aware of is that housekeeping is provided once a week rather than daily. This is part of the extended-stay concept and was not a major issue for us, but it is something guests accustomed to traditional hotels should know in advance. Overall, AKA Times Square was a very good choice for our family and our long stay in New York. There are a few areas that could be improved, particularly the noisy air conditioning, window cleanliness and limited natural light in some rooms, but these did not outweigh the many positives. We would definitely consider staying at AKA Times Square again on a future visit to New York, especially for another extended family stay.

AKA Times Square is a wonderful place to choose when you need a place to live in New York. Perfect location to Times Square, Broadway and other famous places. The staff there are really nice and helpful. They provided us help as much as we need like the umbrella and helping us moving luggages. Also you can cook as in a real house which is really convenient. I will definitely come again whenever I want to visit New York. They deserve a 5-star review.

I had a wonderful time staying at AKA Times Square. The location was absolutely perfect. Being near Times Square, it was a huge advantage to be able to stop by and rest whenever we got tired while exploring Manhattan. The staff were friendly, and the room amenities were exceptionally clean and comfortable. I would love to stay here again. Thank you.

I was more than happy to find a pristine suite upon my late night arrival. I can't say enough about this property. The pool, gym, business center, breakfast in the morning and above all the friendliness of the staff made this the best experience traveling I have had traveling in my career!

Staying with AKA is always a pleasure. Among all amenities and services, coming from another country it is nice to have access to a large range of foreign TV channels. Most may not notice this but when English is not your native language these are the touches that make you feel at home.

Coming into the city for a night at time is easy when staying at AKA. No matter how late I may arrive, my suite is always ready and the front desk staff is always exceptional. They called a car service for me and even got me into my favorite restaurant.
