Reviews for AKA Times Square
My wife and I just returned from spending two nights at the AKA. The units are very modern and clean. The bedroom is great and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly, and parking in the garage across the street was only $35 a day while staying at the AKA. I would highly recommend staying at the AKA Times Square!

For years I have been looking for a spacious room at a reasonnable price. Now I found it. Top location near Times Square and 5th ave, everything very clean. Free coffee and tea in the morning as well as some fruit. Best value for money in NYC I ever had :-))

I stayed here in between Christmas and New Years. It is very close to Times Square, but you can’t see the festivities happening for New Years here. The room was well appointed and had a full kitchen. The rooms are spacious with wooden flooring. You also have a washer and dryer in the room. It’s pricy due to the proximity to Times Square. We checked out on 31st Dec to go elsewhere and it was extremely difficult to get from A to B because of the barricades and police everywhere preparing for NYE celebrations. In hindsight, it would have been easier to checkout a day earlier so we were not caught up in the preparations. The downside to this property was the kitchen tap. It was leaking so I requested someone to fix it. They came and fixed it but then there was a trickle of water when turning the tap on. I requested someone again, he had a look and left, the next day I rang the front desk to ask what was happening about the tap. He didn’t know anything about it so sent the same guy as the day before and he fixed the problem straight away. The next day it was down to a trickle again, which was when we checked out and I told them to have it fixed before the next person checked in. This was an annoying problem as I love cooking, which made it not such a nice experience for me.
I am an Australian who has visited New York frequently over the past 20 years. usually twice a year. I have lost track of all the hotels I have stayed in but most are household names. The past 5 years i have mainly stayed at the AKA Times square instead of a hotel as its ideally located, quiet, far more spacious that any comparable hotel and gives you the opportunity to live in an apartment in true Manhattan style. To be clear there are no flashy foyers, not a lot of glamour in the public areas but the rooms are spacious, modern and have all you need. A full kitchen with a real full size fridge, cook top and utensils plus supermarket delivery (pre book on line from like FreshDirect.com). I usually stay in a deluxe one bedroom. These have a separate bedroom, full lounge and kitchen area and a washer and a dryer. Its a true live in NYC experience. Best of all as you exit the building and turn right the hustle and bustle of Times square is just steps away as then are all the Broadway theaters. Turn left as you exit and 6th Ave is just steps away to avoid the Times square mayhem and easily access the subway a few blocks down at Bryant Park (also a lovely destination in Winter or summer). The staff are very helpful and there are 2 Irish Pubs just in the street and at least 5 other restaurants with one each side and two across the road (try the French one at the Mela across the road...its reasonable priced and always good food). Say hello to Ceaser the doorman for me...tell him Mr Collins says Hi. Enjoy

We spent 3 terrific nights at this property. The location was all you could ask for and the staff could not have been nicer. Only down side--the lobby is way too dark and the televisions were linked into Direct TV and there was no channel guide. Went 3 days without my Weather Channel fix.
