My stay there has always been excellent. Ester has been very accommodating to all our needs during our stays. The staff at lobby were so friendly it makes you feel at home. I recommend here based on location & quality. Rooms are up to standard & amenities as well.

Excellent location, beautiful room, good amenities.

It's a fantastic location right next to Times Square and Broadway, a few blocks from Bryant Park, Whole Foods, and a few more blocks to Grand Central Station. Plenty of restaurants and a convenience store and pharmacy within a block. I stayed in penthouse 105, a suite with a living room and a small desk, one bathroom with tub and shower, and a large bedroom with sitting area, two televisions. Some units have kitchens, this one had a refrigerator, sink, and Nespresso machine. Water pressure was good. Room was exceptionally clean. My only complaint with the room is that the bedroom was quite dim, the floor and end table lights in the bedroom are very low luminance LEDs and there are only two windows at the far end which received limited light. In the living room the windows are overshadowed, but at least there is relatively strong overhead lighting. My unit did not have laundry machines, they do have a relatively restricted hotel-style laundry service. There is no room service, but it was straightforward to pick up packages from Amazon and food delivery. The top floor has a two-story lounge which is very nice. They serve pastries and coffee every morning there. Plenty of places to sit and to work. The lower level also has a small but well equipped gym. I wish they did not close the lounge at midnight, but they do. The streets were quieter than I expected even over the weekend. HVAC was efficient. The doorman were very sociable and front desk staff very polite. Overall this was a very good experience and made me consider the property if I do a long-term stay.

Great place to stay for longer visit to NYC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had a fantastic week-long stay at AKA Times Square. We needed a comfortable place in NYC for our daughter to recover from surgery—a space where we could spread out, prepare simple meals, and relax—and it fit the bill perfectly. The added bonus was Kevin and Cesar, who greeted us with big smiles and were always there to help whenever we returned to the hotel. We highly recommend the AKA for a longer-term stay in NYC!

AKA - Great Option for More Space

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We traveled from California to help our daughter (who is in college in New York) recover from surgery and so we needed something more than a small NYC hotel room and AKA ended up being a GREAT choice. I would have given 5 stars and will discuss all the pros below, but the reason for one less star was that the unit we were given (Room 602) was suffering from very visible wear and tear (scratches on the wood floor right when you walk in, tired and worn out kitchen cabinets, etc.) and could really use a bit of TLC. First impressions are everything and when we first arrived we were disappointed as the space did not resemble what we saw on the AKA website and we felt it seemed a bit shabby to the point that we thought we might not want to stay for the 10 days we estimated being there. That all said, we ended up staying as its hard to find that kind of hotel/long term lodging in the city with that kind of roominess for 4 people and in the end, we were very happy and would definitely recommend AKA. PROS: - Comfortable beds and pillows, nice bathrobes and slippers upon request - Ample storage for clothing and suitcases - Lovely updated modern bathroom and EXCELLENT body products - so much so, that I went online and ordered them to have back home! - Washer and Dryer in a closet which was so great to have for a long term stay; went home with almost all clean clothes. - Staff: EVERYONE there was lovely; big shout out to: KEVIN (who puts a smile on your face every time with his jovial and welcoming warmth), RYAN who went out of his way to show me some other room options as I was looking for something more quiet (more below on that), Tina at the front desk who helped extend our reservation, the doorman who I believe is named EMET or something like that, very sweet and helpful getting things in and out of Ubers - 24/7 front desk help and secured front door - Complimentary coffee, tea and pastries every morning - Prompt help when needed (IT help with the TV; maid service for extras, etc.) - Great location walkable to Bryant Park, Whole Foods, really good restaurants (just avoid the chaos of Times Square when you can!) - Great restaurant next door (Hunt and Fish) CONS: Not many: - As mentioned above, more attention to detail in the rooms when they need TLC and maybe some added creature comforts like throw blankets and pillows on the sofa and maybe some magazines to make it feel more welcoming - IF you are a really light sleeper, this AKA is sandwiched between buildings where its hard to escape the hum of the HVAC systems of other buildings. Nothing AKA can do about that and again, if you're not a light sleeper, not a problem and if you are, use a white noise sound app which is what I ended up doing on some nights. All in all, a great place to stay especially when you need more space!

Serenity in the heart of Times Square

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We loved the desk staff - Kevin and Elliott are standouts. Doormen Julio & Julio & Ellet were amazing help for my cousin using a heavy mobility scooter. They managed getting her inside and out with the stairs to negotiate at the entrance. Thank you so much!!! The two apartments on the seventh floor were so roomy and very quiet for the location. I only heard noisy motorcycles and garbage trucks a couple of times in the middle of the night. We were so close to Times Square and easy access to public transportation. Felt very safe when walking day or night within blocks of the location. Will definitely stay again if there for 7 nights.

I was more than happy to find a pristine suite upon my late night arrival. I can't say enough about this property. The pool, gym, business center, breakfast in the morning and above all the friendliness of the staff made this the best experience traveling I have had traveling in my career!

Staying with AKA is always a pleasure. Among all amenities and services, coming from another country it is nice to have access to a large range of foreign TV channels. Most may not notice this but when English is not your native language these are the touches that make you feel at home.

Coming into the city for a night at time is easy when staying at AKA. No matter how late I may arrive, my suite is always ready and the front desk staff is always exceptional. They called a car service for me and even got me into my favorite restaurant.
