Refreshing Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

It was my first visit and I stayed 19 nights. The staff were excellent and the accommodations ample. Everyone including the doormen, concierge, building engineers, and housekeepers were superb. I felt very much at home. It was good to return to a furnished apartment with kitchen and laundry facilities after work instead of a sterile hotel room. I look forward to my next stay.

Highly recommend; would love to stay there again.

Staying at the AKA Times Square for our weeklong trip to NYC was awesome. Spacious apartment, big windows, laundry facility in the room, coffee and pastry upstairs in the morning, & full kitchen. Can't beat the location 1 block from Times Square, Rockefeller center right around the corner, and Bryant Park, Whole Foods, and Zucker's bagels very nearby. Right next door to the Belasco theater where Maybe Happy Ending was playing. The staff was incredibly friendly.

The staff - including Esther - was super helpful with the needs of our family during our stay. We would definitely go back.

Luxurious with fabulous service; Great location and amenities. 5-Stars!

My stay felt like home. The staff made sure that I had everything I needed. They even made sure that I felt safe, which is important as a female traveler. The room was stunning and well-equipped. The bed was very comfortable and great closet space in the bedrooms. My feedback on the room would be to create a small functional space for working at a desk (maybe in the seating nook) and more bathroom storage/countertop space. Location was perfection. Close to the action but far enough away so you can sleep well. Special shout out to the front desk staff for helping me throughout my stay. Calling out two special individuals who went above and beyond and made me feel like a friend: Kevin and Cesar... you are both unforgettable and outstanding humans. Thank you for everything. Hope to be back soon!

Not bad for New York but management can be difficult

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

At check in was told I was not allowed to use Apple Pay to pay for accommodation, as it was “company policy”. I had stored all my US $ in anticipation. I offered a physical card for deposit. I then spent the next hour arguing with reception and him calling the manager. Of course they eventually agreed but wanted to put me through some pain before of course agreeing. What was particularly annoying was the constant “I only work here” as a cop out. The apartment was large and comfortable. Other reception staff and doormen very friendly and helpful. Give the Americano coffee and “pastries” a miss. No daily cleaning, only once a week.

I was more than happy to find a pristine suite upon my late night arrival. I can't say enough about this property. The pool, gym, business center, breakfast in the morning and above all the friendliness of the staff made this the best experience traveling I have had traveling in my career!

Staying with AKA is always a pleasure. Among all amenities and services, coming from another country it is nice to have access to a large range of foreign TV channels. Most may not notice this but when English is not your native language these are the touches that make you feel at home.

Coming into the city for a night at time is easy when staying at AKA. No matter how late I may arrive, my suite is always ready and the front desk staff is always exceptional. They called a car service for me and even got me into my favorite restaurant.
