Location is great right by the river great views (if on a high floor). Noise is tolerable even for me being a 54 year old light sleeper. Reading most of the reviews before booking my trip I noticed noise was the most talked about but in my stay it's just normal NYC noise. Roof top bar is amazing but the lobby bar bartenders aren't friendly at all. Pool is amazing and it's outside on the roof which was a big plus considering my 6 and 7 year olds loved it. Mostly kids during day but on weekends the older crowd starts picking up. The room was just like the pictures I saw on the website. Only complaint was the mattress was a little worn out but we made do. The staff was amazing. And everyone of them GREAT and good looking. Eric S the front desk manager was great. Helped us with everything we needed upon check in and check out. We went down to tell him our tv wasn't loading the movie my kids bought. He didn't even charge us for movie and got the problem resolved. We had to encounters with the young maintenance workers john and Nick referring to the TV and a small issue with the sofa bed not closing , they were great and helpful with every thing. Raul was so nice bringing our luggage to the room and even met us outside with an umbrella as we got out of our cab. I didn't get the concierges name but she was amazing told us all about the kid friendly spots around the area and called and made reservations for us. Room service is decent but the wait is the only thing that was a bother. To get them on the phone took about 35 minutes then the service took 1 hour. Overall a great stay and will be sure to be back again in September for my nephews weeding ! Five stars !

If you're wanting something a little edgy, with all the amenities, great service, stunning city views and lots of character with very easy access to get around the city then this is the hotel for you! Bang in the middle of the meatpacking district you will find fabulous restaurants, bars and clubs, central of a lot of buzz. The staff are great, there's a downstairs bar and the rooms are spacey with a good stocked (although pricey) mini bar.

We come to the Gansevoort Meatpacking every year and have never had a bad experience. The staff is so friendly and helpful, especially John who took our bags and valeted our car. He is amazing! Excellent Bellman!

I would describe the Gansevoort as a place that's catering to the millennial club crowd. The hotel rooftop (which is beautiful) turns into an all-day club on weekend which hotel guests can barely access. If you do make it out there and don't mind the 100 decibel house music, you may be able to push your way past the drunk 20 somethings yelling about getting blow jobs to get a get a drink at the bar. You'll leave for dinner, and come back hours later to see these same 20 somethings passed out on the sidewalk outside the hotel. Expect to have to explain to the bouncers at the hotel door and at the elevator that you're a guest and need to get to your room. Also expect them to mistrust you. Expect to be leered at in the elevator by the drunks heading up to the rooftop party. If you're a frat boy, all this may appeal. For everyone else: stay somewhere else. Side note: while the coffee machine has no signs on or around it indicating a cost for use, you'll be charged if you try to use it.

Stayed here with a friend for 2 nights in June. We had the deluxe king room. The room was spacious with a seating area and the decor is good. We used the rooftop pool for a good part of one day, excellent atmosphere and highly recommended. The only issue is that our room was facing 9th Avenue where there is some serious construction going on. Even though our room was on the 12th floor, it woke us up way to early.
