We spent a week at this lovely hotel. Fantastic location. Great rooftop bar. Chelsea and Gansevoort Food Market very close by. Catch Restaurant is opposite the hotel. We didn't take breakfast as many options close by. Subway is close by as well. Can be noisy at night, so not good if you are a light sleeper. Note that the coffee pods are not complimentary...will definitely stay there again!

If you want to stay in this area this is a nice choice hotel. We did stay in the 2 level penthouse suite. It was very nice and roomy. A little disappointed that there wasn't any balcony or outdoor space. It had a juliet balcony so you could swing open the door and kind of lean out and see the Hudson River. Views are beautiful. The pool is not great, in my opinion, but it is in the city and it is outdoor. Wouldn't rate the food or the restaurant that hight either. I did enjoy my stay and the room was really cool, just not as up to par as some of the other hotels I have stayed at.

First and foremost, the stay in NY was wonderful. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly hotel staff in the reception. The reception-area in itself was quite small but cozy with a bar and a pool table. When we received our room, we were somewhat disappointed by the room location in the building, the view was far from spectacular. We asked if we could change our room to another one which we could, but not for an additional premium of 100$ per night (we stayed 6 nights). Anyway, the room size was great for NY (> 20 sqm), the cleaning was flawless and the bed was very comfortable. The furnishings was a little bit rugged here and there in the room. The roof-top terrace and bar had a great view but the staff wasn't as welcoming as the staff in the reception. The roof-top area and bar also was a little bit worn and felt more like a sleepy night club the day after a wet drinking party. Who serves drinks and beverages in plastic glasses nowadays? Anyway, the overall impression goes a little bit against the boutiqe design hotel expectaion which we had based on other reviews and images. But nonetheless, we liked our stay at Gansevoort Meatpacking and can definitely recommend others to stay there as well - as long as you are willing to pay more for a better room location.

Stayed here to visit our daughter and son in law who live in the area. Perfect location! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Met us at the car with an umbrella on arrival because it was pouring rain. Always someone in the lobby to open doors and help if needed. This hotel has a rooftop bar that is open to the public so just know that at night there will be people standing in line at the front of the hotel. And riding up in the elevator with you. We never had a problem, we just went in the door and let the staff know we had a room and they let us in without a problem. Our room was a city view on the 10th floor. No noise issues from the street or the rooftop bar. The only item that was a little different was no ice machine on the floors, ice was brought by housekeeping once a day in the afternoon (around 4 or 5pm- when you might be resting before getting ready to go out at night.). or you could ask room service to deliver it. The refrigerator is a mini bar, all items cost $$, would have preferred just a refrigerator we could put items in. We didn't eat in hotel restaurants, but they were all packed all week. I am sure I will consider this hotel for future stays.
