Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC in New York, New York

A sleek retreat from the urban metropolis of the world's most recognized city, Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC offers swanky downtown chic with a hint of uptown luxury. The soaring ultramodern façade, lavish amenities, and tony vibe of Manhattan's premier hotel transforms the boisterous Meatpacking District into the most sought after hot spot in the Big Apple. Inspired by the hip, cool feel of the 1960's and 70's, a bold, bright color palate of fuchsia, magenta, plum, and champagne creates a classically mod ambiance throughout the property. Lavish details like a heated rooftop pool with underwater sound-system and resplendent 5,000 square foot spa with exclusive hair studio provides contemporary comforts and a chance to be pampered like never before.

Each of the hotel's expansive guestrooms and suites offer breathtaking views of the celebrated New York skyline, including the Hudson River and Empire State Building. Soak in the luxury with opulent features including plush feather beds, state-of-the-art technology, and sumptuous Egyptian cotton bedding. Experience famed NYC nightlife without ever leaving the hotel. Locals and jet-setters alike shake up the scene at doll-themed Provocateur Lounge + Café. Dusky décor, an intimate glass-encased garden, and a private balcony sky-box create a playful space that makes Provocateur ideal for a close encounter. For a more relaxed vibe away from the stylish masses, Lobby Bar offers an elegant bar area, pool table, and a unique bar menu. Every experience is delicious at Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC, but The Chester takes tasty to new levels. Dine indoors or outside during warmer months, this multi-functional, bi-level dining facility makes feasting sensual and satisfying.

My son and I are headed home to Denver after a whirlwind 4 days in NYC. While we loved the Gansevoort (awesome hotel) what really set it apart was Lorenzo, their concierge. He went above and beyond to help me plan and execute all our outings. From restaurants, to riding the subway to the Yankees Game, to simply exploring the city. He was knowledgeable, friendly and made this a trip my son and I will never forget. I hope the Gansevoort appreciates him as much as we do!!

We have been traveling to NYC over Labor Day weekend for the last few years. The last time we visited we walked through the Meat Packing District and really liked the area. This is when we saw the Gansevoort Hotel, so we decided to try it this time. I would say the only good thing about this hotel is the location. What you get for the very high price is extremely disappointing. The rooms are very dated, the furniture, the beds pretty much everything. At rates of over $500 per night I expected high quality and high end. This is not the case for sure. The rooftop bar is terrible, the lobby bar is terrible, the service is terrible. Save your money and stay somewhere else!!!!
