The James New York - Soho provides spectacular service. The Front Desk Agents, Yu-On, and Maurice, deserve a promotion, and a raise ASAP. They treat guests like family, going above and beyond. They really set the tone, and set the bar for a Gusto Experience. Complimentary water, apples, newspapers, and magazines are available in the lobby area. During wine hour between 6pm - 7pm, you will enjoy delicious wine, cheese, and, crackers. Afterwards, cookies are served. The lobby has a nice birds eye view of Soho. You will enjoy the fun rooftop, Jimmy’s. The DJ’s play great music, the bartenders are attentive, the rooftop pool looks awesome, and the views are spectacular. The rooms and beds are comfy and cozy. You can then enjoy a yummy dinner downstairs at one of David Burke’s renowned restaurants. This hotel has it all. It’s fun, chic, and convenient to all things Soho. A special thanks and shoutout to Yu-On! You Rock! I see you doing big things in the hotel industry, in the near future. I’m looking forward to my next fun stay at The James Hotel Soho.

I've reviewed a ton of hotels and I would not stay here again. Where do I start: 1. It's a party hotel. Not that there's anything wrong with that but if you like 250 millennial's partying day and night on the rooftop bar (which is nice BTW) this is place for you. 2. The crazy influx of partiers makes the elevators take forever. The hotel is oddly laid out so that the lobby is up a level which means you take 2 elevators to your room or stairs. Either is just a bad design. 3. Rooms are small and have an odd wax on them. So bad that I was falling everything, so no socks or trouble. They moved me to another room, a little better not much. 4. Gym and internet are ok, not great. 5. Location is good - next to canal station which takes you up town quick. Also, always great to be in SOHO and close to Tribeca. 6. Air conditioning - not good at all. I'm in a corner room and it becomes a furnace.

I stayed 5 nights and enjoyed my time at the hotel. The room was small, but this is NYC so I have some acceptance around that. It was fresh and clean, with the hotel smelling divine. I really enjoyed the views from the rooftop and bar. You don’t have to stay there to use it, so if you’re in 2 minds about staying here and choose an alternative, go visit anyway. I didn’t eat here, there were too many great choices around. Subway was close and convenient. I was high enough up not to be troubled by any road noise. There is a massive intersection right below which is really cool to look at and fortunately inaudible from the room. I paid around £230 a night, which, for my money is probably right for a good 4 star hotel in NYC. If you want 5 star service, head up to Central Park and spend LOTS more money.

Excellent hotel in Soho, NYC. Very well located in walking distance to Soho's restaurants, cafe's and bars. Also a 20 minute walk to Lower Manhattan with plenty to see on the way. Heading North it's only 15 minutes walk to Greenwich Village, another great place for restaurants cafes and bars in NYC. The Hotel itself has an awesome rooftop bar called The Jimmy with excellent views of the Hudson River and NYC Skyline. Rooms are big in comparison to other major city rooms (London/Paris) at a similar price and the staff are all very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel if your heading to New York.

I stayed at this hotel on 4/5/2018. It’s close to many fine restaurants and shops in Soho. My room was rather small. However, the bed and luxury soap products were a plus. They have a free wine hour which was very nice. I left some of my clothing behind and called the staff the next day. Mavis was a pleasure to speak with and made the effort to send my belongings overnight via fed ex. Great staff and impeccable service.
