First opened in 1930 and once owned by J. Paul Getty, The Pierre, is a beloved New York City institution. This stunning landmark resides on Central Park, just across from Fifth Avenue. From the trompe l'oeil that adorns elegant Café Pierre and an exemplary staff that speaks 35 languages, to elegantly appointed bedrooms and suites embellished with fine artifacts, each detail at this member of Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces is a tribute to understated elegance.

The best hotel in nyc The staff are very helpful and are always polite The location is fantastic, The rooms are well worth the price . Checking in and check out is simple and easy. The elevator ladies are very helpful and friendly. I can’t understand why this hotel is not 6. Stars.

Excellent service, such a traditional hotel, every thing is excellent, from an early arrival, front desk, concierge, elevator staff, especially the friendly waiters in the famous Perrine, Luis and Carmine. Thank you for the good memories.

The Taj is a beautiful hotel - perfectly located near the upper east side for walking to restaurants, stores and through Central Park. The staff is among the most professional and welcoming. The hotel is incredibly comfortable with all your needs and breakfast is not to be missed! This is our hotel of choice when visiting NYC and we will be staying again in the future.

Four and five night stay with family for Frick Gala. This hotel is marvelous, top to bottom. It is old school New York at its finest. The rooms are spotless, quiet, so comfortable. They are large with high ceilings, great views if you opt for that. The true draw is the incredible staff, whose every interaction was kind, helpful and cheerful. Enjoyed the coffee makers in the rooms, breakfast at Perrine, where all the waiters are like old friends now.

Well the only reason for me to withhold the "excellent rating " is the interior which is grand but needs refurbishment, most of the old Iconic hotels like the RITZ in London or Paris are old hotels but they shine like new pennies ! the Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken shines like it is new ! they have all sorts of reasons like "this is a residence cum hotel" but all said and done the hotel needs soft renovation . Meanwhile the staff including mr Dancer and other concierges are great. A special thanks to Saransh who tries to comfort all his guests . A quality all F.O.M's must have ! keep it up boy
