Reviews for The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York

Comfort and Luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Pierre is a great luxury hotel. We've enjoyed visiting the Pierre on occasional trips to New York City of some 40 years, occasionally trying others but always returning to the Pierre. It exudes comfortable luxury. It's not flashy, definitely not noisy, but certainly classy. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The decor is traditional but quietly comfortable, with the details done to the highest standard. The location overlooking Central Park is perfect. The Pierre is on our very short list of New York City hotels that we consider.

Southern grace found at the Pierre!

My husband and I travel quite a bit and enjoy splurging occasionally while we are in New York. We have stayed in various 5 star hotels throughout the city over the years but we are sure, going forward, we will spend our future vacations in Manhattan at The Pierre. We are from the southern United States where we pride ourselves on southern hospitality. If we didn’t look across the street to Central Park, I’d swear we were surrounded by the southern hospitality we know so well. The smiles from the doormen greet you as you progress through the concierge stand when they look up and address you with a smile and Good morning, Mrs———! As do the front desk attendants. All so caring and friendly. We want to thank Ana P for her attention to detail in making our 2 daughter’s big birthdays ( age 40 and 50) extra special. She arranged flowers, a cake and champagne upon their arrival. I even sent her photos of our daughters and they were placed in a lovely frame to greet them as they came into their beautiful room. Her attitude is so positive and she will go above and beyond to do whatever it takes to make our stay a memorable one. Oh, if I only knew everyone’s name there! But our bartenders, Mazi and Paul, make us feel so at home. I think I’ve become a collector of the round coasters Paul gives me with his shared drink recipes and various tidbits of knowledge for me to take home. Mazi always takes an interest in our family each time we come and the conversations we have with each of them are delightful. This morning, kaydy, our elevator hostess gave me a lesson in how she tied her neck scarf. All of our attendants are so warm and caring. I want them to know how much that means to us. I wish I knew everyone’s name. When we come back ( I hope soon) I will make a point! Other hotels may be glitzy and proper but some leave you cold. The Pierre is our gem….elegant, timeless, established and full or gracious Southern Hospitality, even in the heart of Manhattan! Thank you so very much! PS I just got to the airport and when I opened my book , I had a bookmark from our wonderful housekeeping team.

Taj knows how to do it right when it comes to hospitality! Loved the food, service, courtesy car and the Central Park Views. Ana Pavloska ,knows how to take care of her guests! The American and Indian food both are great, and all the staff is extremely courteous.

Nothing less than extraordinary!

A friend who frequents NY recommended that I consider staying at The Pierre. After noting the property recently won the coveted Forbes 5-star award for 2024, and seeing all the perks offered by booking through AMEX, I decided to book this for a mother-daughter celebration trip to NY. The location is perfect, next to Central Park and the Subway along 5th Avenue, and offered a warm and welcoming home base for our week long stay. We were excited to learn of the (almost) 100 years of history and were charmed by the warm and friendly staff throughout our stay. Our needs (even the unexpressed ones) were anticipated, or special occasion was acknowledged, and the service was so amazing that we simply did not want to leave. It is worth it to book the guestrooms facing Central Park! If you are planning a wedding or a special event, the ballroom is one of the most exquisite venues you can find in NY. We especially enjoyed the traditional elevators and the elevator attendants, which make it a quintessential and classic NY experience! Be sure to take advantage of the helpful concierge team - they steered us in the right directon for anything from coffee, museums, restaurants, bars and entertainment. We are grateful for this extraordinary team of professionals who work here, and couldn't have imagined a more perfect stay in NY.

Great luxury hotel in the heart of Manhattan.

We stayed 4 nights at The Pierre during a sightseeing visit to NYC. Staff were always very friendly and helpful when needed. Special thanks to Abraham the concierge who was always available with great tips. Rooms are luxurious and spacious. Nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. Location is amazing right at 5th Avenue next to The Plaza and Central Park.
