Can I say what a disappointment in comparison to my stay at The Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco, which was amazing… NYC take a note. I will admit I was annoyed to get the worst room in the hotel but this was compounded… 1. They forgot the iron I requested 2. There was no water in the room on arrival 3. Being annoyed I left my passport in the safe, whilst security did retrieve it, after calling ahead, I still needed to wait for it to be delivered. These are small things but when you’re paying the equivalent to a business class ticket to Australia for a 3 day stay I expect the hotel to be on the ball. I suggest the staff at check out knew I was unhappy… typically I’d come to be asked “How was your stay?” In short don’t bother…

This must be the saddest, the oldest and smallest Ritz in the world. Old facilities, sticking wires in the room, loose taps, low ceilings. Sad tiny gym. On positive side: great location, clean, amazing and helpful concierge team, positive attitude from everyone.

Second visit, this time for a signature birthday. Stunning views over the park from our room (2212) on the top floor. Excellent, kind and attentive staff - felt like we were being looked after throughout our stay - and a delightful birthday breakfast on the Ritz. Tried the club room this time and was not disappointed with the quality of food or drink throughout the day. Premium price but premium service. Will be back again on our next visit.

The Ritz-Carlton Central Park is an incredible failure — and that’s putting it mildly. Pre-arrival requests as simple as firm pillows go unfulfilled, water from facets run brown, and the operator line will either not answer or hang up on you multiple times. This property lives on its name but as a road warrior who frequents more hotels than my home, this is one of the most disappointing experiences in a long time. Spent less than 10 hours at the hotel and it was 10 hours too many including an awful sleep and unclean conditions. This property should rebrand as it doesn’t hold up the reputation and falls way short in even trying. If you’re interested in a location where standards go to die, this is it.

We love the Ritz Carlton Central Park. The staff are beyond any staff we’ve experienced in any other hotel. Hands down great rooms, amenities, service. Stratos is our favorite member of staff at the hotel. He’s been there 22 years and goes above all expectations. Truly feels like home every time we stay.
