Loud- impossible to sleep. Management was no help

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Got placed in supposedly last regular king room, although we haven't seen many people here. But we can hear a very loud party going on at 12:30 a.m. I even tried putting on noise canceling earphones and I can still hear them. This place is way too pricy to put up with this kind of annoyance. Avoid if you intend to actually sleep. Ask for a different room and they refused. One star because I can't give zero or minus. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Lovely Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Lovely historic hotel near to most everything. Less than a 10 minute walk to many shops and restaurants on Thames Street. Only made longer if you stop to look at all the beautiful, historical homes along the way. Coffee shop on the premises was perfect. They make wonderful lattes and matcha. One evening we ate a small snack in the bar. Calamari and a lobster shrimp cake. Both equally delicious. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Right across the street is a cafe called Picnic. Great for a quick morning bite. Beautiful furnishings. Would definitely stay there again!

A Few Things to be Aware of

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I stayed in Room 404 - one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in, ever. See floor map attached. So if you get a room that ends in “04”, be prepared or change rooms. All other rooms are much bigger. Be aware of $35/day resort fee and $45/day valet parking fee. There is a public parking lot a few blocks away behind the hotel (between Church & Mary Sts) that charges $30/day overnight. But - hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, food was good. For business - not so good, but for pleasure - don’t drive there, take advantage of the amenities, and don’t stay in an “04” room - and you’ll be fine.

Mother’s Day Get Away

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Location is convenient to everything. The spa staff were great. Breakfast was nothing special but they did a better job at Mother’s Day Brunch. The pool area and gym was very clean. Valets were friendly and quick with retrieving our car. Historic room was small but clean and cozy. Pull out sofa was clean. Could have more bathroom amenities.

We got married at Kay Chapel and had our reception at the Hotel Viking in December. The entire event was everything that I hoped it would be! The Hotel Viking is traditional, outstanding and eloquent. Our reception was in the Bellevue Ballroom and everything was beautiful. The staff was exceptional! They were there for us throughout the evening and paid such close attention to all of the guests! The hotel service was also outstanding. I am delighted to give the Hotel Viking the highest of reviews.
