My partner and I stayed 1 night . Hotel is grand from outside, more modern in rooms. We didn't valet park but found parking close by LAZ parking $10 . It's $ 35 at the hotel . Rooms big but aircon noisy. Bathroom clean, beds comfy. A few stairs to and from lifts to rooms. Strange mixture of fellow guests, when using restroom in public area of hotel why on earth do some people feel the need to cover the toilet seat in tissue??? Then not discard after???? It causes mess to fellow users and housekeeping staff. They don't feel comfortable using the toilet but will sleep in a bed that others have slept in ?? But apart from the strange behaviour of other guests some quite rude in fact , this hotel was in a great location and check in and out quick . There is also a great roof top bar. Will recommend to friends and family when visiting Newport.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Viking. The location is great we parked our car for three days. We walked or took the city trolley everywhere (the mansions, the cliff walk and the waterfront) The staff was very good from the valets, the front desk and housekeeping. Everyone was dedicated to making our trip to Newport excellent from helping with directions, public transportation (stops right in front of the hotel), recommendations of restaurants and things to do. The amazing thing about their helpfulness was that all suggestions were spot on and the information was correct. I am very confident that because of the input of the staff our trip to Newport was greatly enhanced. We will definitely go back to Newport and stay at the Hotel Viking. A special thank you to the valet that recommended Benjamin's for dinner, you are my hero! I am very sorry I don't remember your name

This is a beautiful hotel with lovely features. The staff were great. We ate breakfast here and it was wonderful, served in a beautiful outdoor setting. The rooftop bar is great and their was a wonderful singer there on the night we were there. Only small criticism I have is that the bedroom while being beautiful was very small - however Newport was too stunning to be spending much time outdoors!

We had a terrible experience at this property due to extremely uncomfortable bedding and will never return. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the experience was painful sleeping on them. We were afforded a room change, however this did not help in any way. Each room has been outfitted with the same extra firm old style beds (no pillow top, or new comfort technology.) In addition, we booked a handicap accessible room, but were told that there was only one on the property. This was truly an awful experience and will not be returning again. Not handicap accessible as advertised. A myriad of stairs, inclines and uneven flooring make for an easy slip and fall. Valet parking required at $35 per night. Resort fee required, although this is NOT a resort, but an old historic hotel. Not a luxury property as boasted. Excellent location downtown. Beautiful restaurant and outdoor patio area. Historic architecture and rooms. Very thin walls.
