Reviews for Harbour House Hotel
We were very pleased with our two night stay at the Harbour House. The location is very quiet and pleasant. It's a pleasant 5 minute walk to the Shaw Theater and downtown, and they offer car service if you'd rather ride. Our room was very roomy and well appointed, and the bed was quite comfortable. Service was excellent. For breakfast, which is included, they served cold meats, bagels and lox, fresh fruit as well as cereals and pastries. Quite nice. Everything is immaculately maintained. However, the shower in our room was an issue. It had this awkward hand held apparatus, with jets and seats and just simply made taking a shower very challenging. Ridiculous design. Seriously, it was very difficult to use and certainly wasn't relaxing. It is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

For a simple one-night escape from the city, the Harbour House Hotel was perfection. The staff were so helpful, friendly and helpful. Service was fantastic. They really know how to treat customers. I feel it was worth the extra expense compared to some other hotels we've stayed in in NOTL. The Shuttle service... Ah.Maze.Ing. If you're going to enjoy the fantastic local wines, this is the best way to get around. Wine and cheese in the afternoon was a nice bonus, but it would have been nice to be able to sample more varieties of wine. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Couldn't really expect more.

Beautiful room and facilities. Location was perfect with views of the lake. Breakfast and evening wine and cheese were appreciated. All the staff were friendly, courteous, and professional. The suggestions for dinner places worked well. The other guest were from all over and very friendly. (Perhaps the wine????)

My wife and I spent two nights at Harbour House to enjoy the Shaw Festival (wonderful!) with two friends from Chicago. The hotel is nicely placed in a quiet corner of the town, away from the bustle of Queen Street yet within walking distance of the three theaters where the festival productions are stages (the hotel also runs a shuttle). The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very nicely appointed and maintained (the gas fireplace would be a plus on a fall or winter evening), and the continental breakfast is ample and varied (mostly cold selections but one hot dish is provided—French toast, strata, and the like, in rotation). One of the staff dropped the ball on a dinner reservation we had requested in advance, but another staff member came up with a very attractive solution in a professional, thoughtful, and very satisfying way. All in all, nothing but praise.

Spent a weekend at the Harbour House, a "vintage" hotel. The service was very good. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. The HH offers a courtesy van to take you around town, a handy option. HH, however, is located a short walking distance from the main Shaw Theatre and, in turn, the center of town ( 10 minutes). Fort George is walkable. If you don't want to take the van, bikes are available for rental (via Zoom) on premises and there are a number of wineries within riding distance. HH offers a "happy hour" featuring local wine and a light snack. Many guests participate me it is a warm, friendly atmosphere. The hotel decor is classic--this is not a modern, technology sharp hotel (though the wi-if is just fine). It is also relatively small compared to similar hotels in NOTL. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bed is very comfortable. Beefsteak, which is included, was better than advertised and worth it. I would recommend this hoTel, especially for couples looking to get away.
