Reviews for Harbour House Hotel
Stayed end of June. We had an amazing time here. We were probably the youngest couple at the hotel (late 20s). The staff were friendly and very helpful. We first met Alejandro on our check-in. He was very very knowledgeable on the area and the winery estates. He had helpful suggestions that really made our trip that much better. We had explained our visit of going to Niagara falls, and he even gave us helpful suggestions for when we had traveled there. We met Andrew who drove the shuttle, dropping people off at the restaurants in the evening, though we did not use his services, was very nice and welcoming. The hotel does not have it's own restaurant, but is a short 5min walk into the main street where all majority of the restaurants and shops are. The shuttle would be good for women who decide to wear heels to their dinners, as there are some inclines to walk up before getting to the main strip. It was nice to not have a restaurant in the hotel, as it was quieter and had less traffic around in the evening. Many of the restaurants are attached to hotels, so they get a little busier and less calm comparatively. Kelsi, who we met the next day, was very easy to talk to and really helped us out with planning our dinners. He gave us amazing restaurant suggestions and even booked the tables for us. He even helped us save some money at the restaurant by putting us down for a 3 course meal, which would have been more expensive if we were to order the same thing on their own. The staff were very friendly, easy to talk to, and were able to joke with us the for our entire visit there. They always asked how our day was and what we did. We really enjoyed the connection that they had with the guests. We had gone to do the whirlpool jet boat (Alejandro's suggestion)which less than a block away from the hotel, we loved it, but we were soaked after the tour. We had bumped into Alejandro on our way back to the hotel, and he even offered to meet us at the front with see towels! We politely declined as we were just going to go straight up to our room and shower anyways. There is breakfast that is included with the stay. It is filling and nicely presented. There is cereal and granola. Bagels and bread. A toaster if needed. There is usually some sort of hot dish, which changes everyday. A platter of cold cuts, cheese and smoked salmon. Some pastries, fruit and yogurt. The tables are set, and just need to sit at anyone that is clean. There are people who will bring you coffee, tea or juice, they are a nice welcome in the morning. The breakfast area does close, so be sure to not sleep in too much. A coffee/espresso machine is available for guest use 24 hours a day, as are the tea bags. They even provide to-go cups, so you can make one before you head out on your adventures for the day. During the time when we visited, there was wine and cheese from wineries from the area between 4-5pm. We unfortunately only made it for one of them during our stay, but was a nice to have wine tastings brought to you, instead of having to go the vineyards. Our to was nice clean and perfect for couples. There is a fire place in the room, though we had no need to turn it on. There is a tv and dvd player (DVDs provided in main common area), though we also did not use much. WiFi was free and easy to access. Parking was easily accessible and close. Part of the parking was covered part was uncovered. There were a couple of stalls specific for electric cars to recharge. The hotel also offered bike rentals, though we decided to drive instead. Overall, we would not hesitate to stay here again. And would definitely recommend our friend and family to stay here as well.
Stayed here in July for two nights and had a fabulous time. We had a first floor room, number #106, it was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the windows opened. The room does back up to the office area so you will hear noise of staff walking around. As others have mentioned, the breakfast is more than enough, with many homebaked foods. We had the orange marmalade french toast with real maple syrup - soooo good! The staff are very good and knowledgeable of the area. The location is a 10 minute walk to town. Recommend the hotel restaurant across the street (can't remember the name) it has a nice outdoor patio filled with flowers for a relaxing lunch.

Spent three nights at Harbour House with my wife and friends this past week to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We can't say enough nice things about our accommodations! The room was clean and spacious. All of the staff went out of their way to make certain our stay was enjoyable. The breakfast was outstanding. The wine and cheese each day was most enjoyable along with the conversation of others staying at Harbour House. When we return to NOTL this is where we'll stay!

This was a first time visit to this hotel in Niagara on the Lake. My elderly in-laws required ground level accommodation, which was provided, my wife and I were located on the third floor. The service upon arrival was exceptional, to say the least, Kelsey, who initially greeted us at reception, was extremely professional, courteous and helpful. Parking was ample and spacious. The rooms are spacious and very well equipped. As we were planning on meeting friends at The Olde Angel Inn for dinner that evening, Kelsey informed us of the fact that a shuttle service was available to take us there and pick us up, if it was before 11 pm, which is perfectly fine. All in all, a fine hotel. Minor hiccups preventing a five star rating: 1. The entrance to the hotel from the street is on a slope which makes it difficult for seniors with mobility issues to enter. This could be negated by the fact that an elevator is available from parking, but this is not known until asking at reception. 2. Lack of evening in-house dining. We had reservations elsewhere so this is really a minor issue. 3. Lack of an in-house bar. The possibility of a night cap, without leaving the premises, is impossible. 4. Breakfast? Available, but not the greatest selection of food available. One hot dish, which included peppers, to which my wife is allergic. As stated, minor, in my opinion, deficiencies which should possibly be taken into account by the owner(s).

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Our suite was spacious and clean. The breakfast was yummy. The town was beautiful. We didn't have enough time there and would like to return and would definitely stay at The Harbour House again!
