Beautiful old hotel with lots of character

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

I've always wanted to see and stay at this hotel ever since I was a kid. My husband and I decided to visit the park spontaneously over the long weekend and booked a night stay at the hotel. I just love the history of the hotel. The lake and mountain views are totally worth the visit even if you are not staying at the hotel. The rooms themselves are very cozy but small. It's an old hotel and some things may be missing that you would expect to find in a generic hotel. We didn't have a TV (which I loved). The bathroom was small but newly renovated. The wind outside was howling and loud but the room was warm and cozy. I had a great sleep here and would definitely come back again.

Wonderful experience

The staff are professional, courteous and obviously work very hard! The hotel was quite cold in May but it is very nearly 100 years old!! The food does not disappoint. Cannot wait to go back!

Bellhop

When I got to the hotel my room was on the 5th floor. The bellhop was there to help me find my room. Once we got to the room my room key was not working. He made sure that this problem was fixed asap. Maintenance and other staff came to my rescue. The problem was resolved. Cheers to Donovan!

Hilltop Historic Inn with Specitcular Views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 months ago

At the head of Waterton Lake, in the town of Waterton, sits the Prince of Wales Hotel, the tallest all-wood structure in Canada. The hotel retains much of its original character, right down to the costumed staff wearing kilts and tartans. True to its 1927 origins, the amenities don’t quite match today’s traveler’s expectations. No coffee in the rooms, hair dryers, or toiletries. However, the rooms are historic, and you do feel like you have been transported back in time. AND the views are spectacular! The main lobby is open up to all five floors, with a glass wall all of the way up facing beautiful Waterton Lake. Just down the hill by a 10 minute hike is the township. Plenty of restaurants, boating, and nature. Make sure to check out Cameron Falls at the far corner of the town, and if you’re feeling adventurous, take the hike form there all the way to Lake Cameron.
